I'm pretty much exactly there too Mega, I love my jeans ea lot more after my first wash. But I don't regret waiting a year!

 

Looking forward to this next coming year and it will probably go by fast.

Just for Max, I've taken some better photos in good lighting of the marbling. This was 2 days ago, and they just got a wash (#10?) since then.

The texture is definitely quite interesting in person!

Challenge 5 - introduce your country

For your entertainment - a round of pictures of Örebro where I'm currently living. In the first post we have Wadköping - an entire block of Örebros architectural history. It was finished in 1965 and consists of old wooden buildnings from across the central parts of Örebro that was moved there. The oldest buildings go back to the 15th century and the newest parts from after the cityfire in 1854. It's not just museums though. You'll find a bakery, workshops for different crafts, cafés, an old bookstore and an outdoor theatre.

 

I guess I'll start where we left off last time when my phone died: 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is Kungsstugan (King's Cabbin), the oldest of the lot. 

 

That's it from Wadköping but there's more to come.

I've always loved trains but it was just a few weeks back that I stumbled across this: tThe central workshop for the trains owned by the government. I recall seeing somewhere that it was built in 1912. 

 

 

 

 

 

Close by there's this towery buildning. I suspect it could be an old granary or warehouse.

In 1912 they built barracks in Örebro for a couple of regiments close by the train workshop. They were stationed here until 1988. Another part of Örebro I had no knowledge of until a few weeks back.

We also have a small castle in the citycenter. It was probably built in the 12th century.

 

 

This awsome buildning was until recently the headoffice of our local newspaper. But now they're turning it into a hotel.

 

Outside our townhall there's a statue of Engelbrekt Engelbrektsson, leader of a medievel rebellion in 1434. The swedish king was dethroned and Engelbrektsson became supreme commander of the swedish army.


And last but not least, our townhall.

Went over last weekend to swan valley, Gnangara in Perth to grab some mangoes before the season finally ends. took a drive to RAAF pierce airbase to have a look at the camp of reporters covering MH370. haven't got much photos. just a couple of shots from lunch at a little coffee cafe.

Great post, Bobbo! That brings back great memories - I visited Wadköping too back in 1999.

 

A colleague lent me a (in his opinion) great camera lense, that would do perfect macros. I'll try to take some one year pictures with it later.

Thanks for the help but still getting a broken link icon when I try and post. What I am doing is following your steps, then copying the link they provide and then at SuFu clicking on the image icon and pasting the link Flickr provide in the Image Properties pop-up window. I then get a broken link icon.

 

What am I doing wrong?

I recall some talk about Photobucket messing with the quality of the photos these days.

Was it Flash that got alot sharper images after switching from Photobucket to Flickr?

Well, they are nowhere near as impressive as all the jeans posted previously, but here are my Studio D'Artisan X's-33 at the one year mark, fresh off their 6th wash.

 

 

 

And a couple of close ups, starting with the patch.

 

 

And the texture and character of the denim, which has really come out nicely as they've faded and all the attention grabbing neps have worn off.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates/involvement. Been pretty busy with school and stuff.

Anyway, here's my contribution for introduce your country! I'm from Singapore and currently studying the UK, so having Singapore Day in London works out nicely for this challenge lol.

Met up with some of my old classmates from years ago.

Didn't really take much pictures myself so these are mostly ripped off my friends' photos from facebook oops

And introducing food from Singapore. They only gave small portions sigh but these are hawker fare I grew up with and I love them.
