Netley - you got it exactly right! The other night it was - 45 and my family and I went to DQ. The place was packed!!

 

 

Of course, it only makes sense. It's stupid cold outside, you might as well get some ice cream. Same goes for Slurpees! Darn things freeze solid before you can drink it all though.

We got loads of snow last week. Not too stoked about it. Damn dangerous stuff riding my bike across town with all the snow covering a layer of ice underneath.

iirc a challenge was about foodporn and such, right?

ok, gonna post some (at least to me) paleo foodporn:

starting with this

made/had those yesterday...avocado stuffed beef burgers!

mix beef with ground almonds (my favourite and actually secret ingredient to almost all my meals ), salt, pepper and chopped peppers and let it rest for a few minutes.

while it rests, mix avocado with salt, pepper and a bit of olive oil.

take mixed beef, spread it out and add the avo mix in the middle, form paddy and throw everything in the pan/on the grill...done and enjoy

Good to see some SF0121 evo from Bobbo but truly love seeing all the brands on here and the different hues and textures coming through on so many unique denims a good 9 months or so into this competition. Keep them coming.

I like the fact that mostly everyone's jeans fade different. Kinda jealous, I don't do much in mine. I tell myself to just abuse them, coffee/beer stains, when I'm shooting, sit on the floor instead of crouching, but I guess my denim is stubborn. 

 

Still, I like the Hue of the Cult's.. It has a richer Blue cast than the Samurai's I'm used to.

 

And December is here... The Time I usually grab a fresh Pair... Sadly, I think I'm going to have to pass this time.

Finally got some shots of mine in a decently lit room. Since I hardly wore them over the summer I think I'm about 5 or 5.5 months in. No plans to take them off until late April, except for the odd wash. They've had two or three machine washes so far. I'm a desk jockey and don't get up to much exciting.

When I put on my ols Samurai 5000VX 21 oz and Eternal 888 yesterday I was surprised how dark they looked to me compared to my current contest pair. And these were the pairs that looked much more worn some months ago. What I'm trying to say: sometimes you realize the evo and colour difference only when you switch pairs, as you don't notice the gradually changes.

People are speaking of a NY meet up. It said in the first post that there may be some sort of SF meet up for us on the west coast at around the one year mark.  Is that still going to be the case?

The OG plan was to do an SF meet up next year, but for me coming from the UK it would cost me around $4000 more to bring my family to SF as it would to NY, so I will (unless disaster strikes) be hitting NY in the first week of August for meet up. 

 

I would love it if some Heavy Champs wanted to spring their own meet up in SF, nothing better than getting together with like minded individuals to share your HWDC denim experiences.
