$720 USD is a bit steep for me :/ but looking for something that would last a couple years and is at most around the $300 range

How much money are we talking? There are plenty of options on the Munson if That is your only worry. I'm a big fan of Russell moccasin as you know.

I would just get some Munson Red Wings, but they are a bit pricier, but made with better craftsmanship. But 200quid is pretty cheap. You might be able to find Munson military spec in vintage NOS for dirt cheap in North America.

Hoggy, ever tried Tricker's? I have too big wide feet and I find them to be the most comfortable shoe ever. Bit pricey but in the long run they're worth every penny, a true shoe that looks better with age. My pair it's getting into their 16th year of wear and still looks perfect.
