What last did you have them rebuilt around..?
-
Chippewas. Cheap boots that end up getting very interesting patina after a few years.
-
They look great! I think this is exactly what supposed to happen with natural leather.
-
I have always liked the fact that this WW2 GI Joe is wearing my Chippewa boots.
-
With my RDTs I was surprised to find that the metal toe taps wore out faster than the sole. And they were very slippery. As Posted here before, I had them re-soled early on with wedge soles, which have held up very well (better than the RDT uppers!).

The red thread represents my attempt to do some DIY reinforcement, which I failed at..
-
I love my RDTs, but I have to admit some disappointment in how the stitching on the vamps began to come loose pretty quickly. They have held together, and I don't wear them all that often, but still an unexpected breakdown.

Yes indeed..

Do you know if this leather ("regular CXL black horsehide") is different from his "hand tinted HH," which I see so many pics of? I like yours better than a lot of the pics I see of RC boots with wear, where the HH gets all creased up. I know some folks like the latter, and I understand why, but this looks better to me.

Yes, died through.

Ha, that's why prices had to go up every year! 15 million dollars represents a lot of Indy boots...
-
Yes, I've been tempted by these 4Q collabs as well. But ultimately I'm a toecap guy.

Chippewas after 3 years or so of regular wear. It’s a shame they discontinued these. They were affordable, looked good (to my eyes), and were hardwearing. Not fancy, but got the job done. I wore my last pair for over ten years, and had to get these replacements on the ebay. Still a few floating around, but starting to dry up.

I found the SJs to be much more narrow in the toe box than the SD last. It's a little surprising as they look chunkier, but to me they were like two widths narrower... Just in the toe box.

Thinking about ordering a pair of Truman boots for the first time. They've got an MTO with some nice looking horsehide going. I've seen both good and bad about them on the interweb; wondering if anyone here in the trusted group has had experience with them. And especially if anyone has owned or handled their horsehide from Maryam tannery in Italy.

Ah right, they look good.
-
Remind me what the brown medallion cap toes are..?
-
Wolverine sells them directly.

I’ve had two Chippewa engineer boots over the past 15 years, and they always have the coolest looking tongue marks (if you like tongue marks).
-
Thanks. An old flathead Harley it turns out. Pretty nice!
-
My goodness -- Is that an Indian in the background? What year?
-
Dang, too small for me. I remember when they first offered these, right at the launch of the new website. Wish I had got them then. GLWS.

So, when are these Vibergs going on sale, and what size are they?
-
What laces are those? Nice and wide..
