I'm not particularly close to my dad; my mom and dad separated when I was around three years old. From age 6 until 14 I didn't see or talk to my dad at all, because my mom didn't allow it. The last time I saw him I was 16, when I visited Macau (the only legalized gambling city in all of China).

Last year when I went up to Shanghai to visit winq, I told my dad to come up and visit me too. He said sure, but luck wasn't on my side, I guess. The weekend he was supposed to come up, the Venetian Macau (world's largest casino) also opened up so he had to stay in town for business. Fucking great coincidence / lack of planning. I also didn't have time to visit him either.

Now, I have another chance to visit him. I'm supposed to fly into Macau tomorrow and stay at his place for a few days. I haven't seen him in five years; and guess what? HURRICANE.

There's probably an 80% chance that all in-coming flights will be canceled tomorrow.
