I actually used dark charcol and navy stitches.

its very hard to look apart at the beginning, but i hope to see different fading as i break them in.

and yes, i will tell my self not to soak till the starting date.

looks like i will be the last one to receive these.. was supposed to be in tachi-machii this week but not going to happen. looks like they will arrive next there next monday and get shipped to me mid week. might be a day or two over the 01 Sept. but in 18 months it should not matter..will buy a NY times and photo as soon as i receive them.

curious what model and what customizations if any people ended up with? (might be a nice addition to the first page list)

mine are the 1922 version of the 9103xx model with exposed rivets / crotch rivet/ buckle back, the laurel wreath buttons, blue herringbone pocket bags, standard yellow / orange stitching throughout (could not help myself after these pictures..

Just recived mine

love them , the fit is perfect (pre soak) , i had the front and back rise lowered by 1 inch

the leather patch is sooooo nice realy smooth and soft

Gonna love seeing the evo of this denim

and for anyone who ordered herringbone pocket bags y our in for a treat , the fabric is beautiful , think im gonna order a jacket in with the olive material

This is the most eagerly anticipated contest since the Roy/Cone one and the variation in cuts and denim gives it some added interest, akin to the LVC contest.

nice touch flash with the skull jeans-like stitching on the pocket. was that what you were going for? herringbone is definitely nice for the pockets as well as the patch. is that deerskin? anyhow, looking forward to this with a lot of anticipation. nice injection of excitement to an otherwise dead forum. good on you for organising this flash. denim definitely looks real nice and making me consider another pair already even though i hardly have the chance to wear mine.

I allways liked skulls little " dig In the ribs " at Levi's so I thought it would be a nice detail as ooe can no longer offer the red tab

Not 100% sure about the patch but I think it is , it's the smoothest leather patch I've ever felt

^i have to echo the sentiments on the red "skulls" stitch...a very nice pair, i might wish i took the rise down an inch as well but i think i sized up large enough that theyll fit no matter what.

still nothing in the mail yet though! hoping ill have a nice surprise when i get home...

Soaked the sample patch of denim

the weave has tightened a fair bit and the colour has got slightly darker

tsunamiboy, that fit pic looks great but maybe you better stick with a cold wash or they might end up too small?

my pair is currently 'awaiting presentation to customs officer' (two days already) so that doesnt look promising...

well, the jeans arrived today after all...after trying them on, fondling the fabric and obsessing over the details (went with the standard 01 deets on an oversized 02cut), i took some pics. all taken with my iphone, please bear with me until i figure out my camera situation:

nice pairs everyone! def bringing back some excitement to the forum!! i hope you guys keep up the energy and build on what's already happening here. i loved the Ooe tour jeans and this really has me jonesing for a pair of Ooe's. Congrats to those involved, looks like your getting some of the finest jeans out there!
