These are some fit picks of the 1933 Rider's Run jeans that I picked up on sale last week. I have only been wearing skinny jeans for the past 4 years so these feel really loose. I want to start wearing more traditional straight leg cuts, I am wondering whether a 55 or a 44 raw would be a good place to go from here as I already have a pair of the 67 505s which are on the slim side.... wondering what others thought of the fit of these 33s?

Thanks erk!

I agree 100% about the distressed part. As soon as I put them on I started wishing they were raw. I think that is what has me wanting a new pair to break in myself....

I was just at the Field House today (the Bonanza style sister store to the uber modern Blackbird). They had a bunch of LVC in. Mostly raw, only a couple of distressed. No duck jumper though. I've talked to these guys before when I was first looking for LVC in the fall. The fellow working there (I wish I was better remembering names) was digging my Left Field Tweeds. I'm curious how well the LVC does (I don't think they don't do sales, so full msrp). It is a very expensive shop across the board, with Filson, Woolrich, RRL, and Alden (nice cap toe exclusive). Even some 75$ candles. They may also get to be a retailer for Hellers Cafe if folks are interested in that (very tentative though).

the 44s are nice. mine are a 36/36, which measured just slightly over 38" pre-soak. following two boiling soaks they were down to 34.8". for reference, i'm 6'2" 188-195lbs. shitty pic, i know, but to give you an idea:

check out this valencia street cotton duck jacket.

http://www.jeans-neshi.com/mensjeanskan/levis/xx-aitem/deadstock/70200-1410.htm

a bit expensive though. i think thats the one dr heech has / had

Yes my friend, it is the same one (doubt if I will ever part with it as it is part of a set, which you dont see often even on ebay). Love the duck canvas material. The new 2010 shirt has the same quality duck material too.

Hope you are keeping well.

Fit looks good on those, def towards the style that I looking for. That actually seems like a good deal of shrinkage on the waist. Ideally I'd love to find some models with a 38" inseam as I'd like to have some extra length to cuff with. Did you loose a lot of length on your 44s as well?

after 3 hot-as-hell soaks the inseam shrunk from 36 to 33. and yes, i was pleased that the amount of shrinkage i acheived in the waist. i've a pair of 47s that measured 38.5 pre-soak, and shrunk down to 34.5 after two long, boiling hot soaks. i was shocked, but very pleased. also, if your looking for a pair with a 38" inseam, i'm now selling a pair of 47s, size 36/38, that i wore for sporadically for a couple months. the inseam is nearly 36".

Okay, here we go again, Farinelli's clearly lists the new '44 denim weight @ 12oz. raw 14 oz. post wash. Cultizm has it @ 10oz. raw. The '15 is still listed at some retailers as 11oz., 10oz. at other places or not listed at all. Who to believe? Levi's ain't telling, I have 3 pairs of LVC and none of them came with any tag that indicates the weight. I think that denim weight is (as it should be) the most important thing to anyone interested in denim, yet it's LVCs most common mystery.

They had the 1944s, and 1890s which don't seem to be up, but no type III cord. The inventory is a little different between the stores. I don't even go in Blackbird as I feel like a hobo strolling into the ballroom at the Ritz.. The Fieldhouse does carry alot of RRL that doesn't seem to be on the BB site. Unfortunately other than some very expensive USA jeans, it seems to all be Chinese.

I was surprised at how light and flimsy the Type I felt. The Type III jacket felt alot sturdier, but maybe it's because all the smaller panels stiched together?

that blouse is a beauty markus. i totaly forgot about it.!!

I agree with Mr. Lee, you pull that look off very well.

I sold mine some months ago, not just because of financial issues, but also because it just didn't fit right - because of the excess denim around the waist. Plus I've still got my 101LJ.

Boxy denim jackets just dont look good on me.

What a super chambray shirt you have ther ShortyLong, and I love the design with that small "tobacco" pocket kinda reminds me of some PostO'All styles but not as over the top as theirs. I have an original deadstock vintage '50s Big Yank chambray that's nowhere near as cool as yours with the same white selvedge along the inner placket, only difference is mine has the white selvede seam gussets and lacks the inner collar selvedge detail. The material on yours seems thicker and has a brighter tone too. Did that come raw or pre washed?

Thanks. Not sure about the fabric. I haven't washed it yet, but it does seem pretty "stiff." I'm just glad it's not the usual "pre-distressed" mess LVC usually does with their shirts.

Did you happen to see the black DS Big Yank chambray (prob. from the 30s/40s) that just went for $2100 on ebay???
