Havent posted for a few months and having been following the thread either so forgive me if this old hat but noticed when I bought these a few weeks ago that these s1 09 47s have a single sided red tab with no copyright mark . I have a worn pair of 2008 and raw pair of 2007 both with the copyright mark as have anyothers I have owned . Is this new ?

mine from two years ago also has the single sided red tab without the copyright mark. mine are japanese, and from what paul told me the the law is differnet in japan, and levis does not own the red tag in japan.

I'd say that's a bonus, as it's more authentic. Are they LVC Japan?

No Dr H , inner tag says made in usa and I709 (not S1 09 ) waist button engraved 4170 , which is new to me also .

Yup, I don't know why they changed.

I think Levi's are over the top about trademarking.... if you work for them they expect you to put a little 'TM" every time you write the word Levi's or 501; some of it is necessary, and some aint. I guess they simply decided that for a repro line with a small production run that it wouldn't create a legal precedent.

you just described my ideal pair of levis. 66 cut (button fly of course ) hidden rivets, proper arcs. heres hoping.

THe changes just apply to the XX group; there will be a new Made and Crafted line, which I haven't looked into too much, but will have a lot of vintage-style aesthetic filtered into modern designs.

Hopefully this is what we're talking about. I love the vintage repro's but it depresses me when it's all purely about looking back and not about keeping what was great and improving what wasn't. At the same time I'm not interested in anything too wild like with the Levi's Red line just consolidate or mix and match some of the great details like the imaginary 66's above or a '47 made with 201 denim. That sort of thing.

thought id post a pic of my 33s... these were a pair of the broken raw or whatever the fuck its called... picked em up on yoox for cheap. the resin set creases kinda fucked with the fading since they sayed in even after wearing and washing multiple times, but the jeans are developing a nice character.

the 1947s shouldn't be too slim if you get the right size, but the 1944 and the 1955 would fit that description.
