how many Power Wear items do you have now?

Between (graphic and blank) tees, thermals and sweats it's hard to put a number on it...I'll try to get a count for you though. :D

Experiencing an unexpected lull during a product launch, here is an office mugshot. S506XX 44-45 and a new pair of 601RB. The hip flare is a bit much but I’m sure will settle down

Did a rough count and we're up to 40 Power Wear items. No, I don't have a problem.

So I was to'ing and fro'ing on whether to get a size 42 or a 44 in the Powerwear heavyweight sweatshirt (#2434007)

I have FW jackets in size 44 and size 46, so logic says a size 44 in sweatshirts should be good
However, for me, the sweatshirt measurements tend to look, or be, generous... though it depends how you want them to fit

Also, I'd previously got the Lot #2334011 sweatshirt in size 44 without consulting anyone and it's anomalously massive, even after washing it at 90C and sing the dryer (yes, that's another story)

Seiichiro had the idea of sending me both 42 and 44 to help me choose; and asked me to post the comparison (top service from Seiichiro, as always btw).  I've never posted on IG so here we go on Sufu

I know other Sufu'ers get more shrink from their wash/dry methods, so my measurements are a guide to be used with caution

The pictures are pre-wash 42, pre-wash 44 and then washed 42

Anyhow, happy with the size 42 and it seems the right one for me in Freewheelers sweatshirts

Measurements chart - measurements can vary depending who is taking them - main take-away here is the relative change

Ta-da... settled on size 42

And then the bad prince got locked up in the dungeon... and they all lived happily ever after.  The end :)

Does anyone know if the 506xx 1942 Jacket Lot.2421006 (wash)/ 2421005 (Non-wash) Jacket is an annual release?

I've been looking at the S506xx 1944-45 jacket Lot.2511004 (washed), and have seen the Hooper review of the 42 too,  realizing (as always it seems) that i'd missed it a few months back. Thanks

Don’t think so. I think the 507xx ‘51 is the only one really, though others who know better I’m sure will say.

Yes, the 1951 507 and also the 46/47 506 are annual products, I think.
But with the popularity of the other versions I wouldn't be surprised, if they get released again. But who knows. What size are you looking for?

I'm looking for a raw Size 42, in the 1942.

The reason for asking about the re-releasing is that iv'e seen the current release of the s506xx 44-45 again. Which made me think perhaps the 42 might come back? Thanks for the replies.

Regarding the 1942- there had been some post saying that the denim is different from the other WWII jackets, but also from the 46/47 and from the 1922/1933.
Any more info/insight on that?

Also the 1946 ones from 2020 with the flannel pocket were the same denim as the 601XX 1947.
Perhaps the WWII denim was created after that.

I honestly don’t know.
from watching the Hooper reviews of both the 44-45 & 42 models, I’m think I’m right in saying that the 44-45 S model has a rougher darker denim, compared to the non-s 506 models.

I’ll rewatch the 42 video and see if I can pick out more details now I’m a bit more informed on the models. They did make a point of how special the denim was.

That video was posted earlier in the thread.

Here’s the review of the s506xx 44-45 review from  previous run about a year ago. From what I understand the recent edition of this jacket is the same as the previous one.

I’m happy to be corrected on anything I’ve missed or misunderstood here though.

The prominent vertical fading seems to be characteristic for vintage WWII denim. Both FWs and WH have that in their WWII denim.
When you look at the 1942 denim it also has the some thicker warp yarns.
So, even if it is different from the 1943, 44, 45 denim, it's probably still closer to that than to the original denim or the red cast 20s/30s denim.

@Broark has the '42s and the WW2 so will be able to comment on the denim used (I thought it was the same denim but let's see)

Yup that's correct, same denim. I think the new 42s seem a bit more blue though. I haven't worn the new tux much (been wearing the WoM  jeans), but I'll try to get some photos soon.
I did some comparison shots last year of the 37, 42 and 45 variants:

@Broark yea when I asked Hoosier he told me the denim is different.
I also assumed it was the same denim so was going to pass on the 42 jeans but now I might grab them……

I was refering to this post.

@shredwin_206did you eventually get the 42s? Any more info on what is different about the denim from the other WWII ones?

I was talking to Seiichiro about the 42 jacket and upcoming transition model jeans and he did mention the Popularity of Freewheelers nowadays…

’S601XX(denim pocket bag version). It's possible to change shape and nobody knows the details yet. After arrival, we'll know about it.
I'll stock nonwash w32 and w33. If you want it, preorders will be better. FW's denim products are getting so popular and sold out is so quickly in these days.’

And about the possibility of a re-run of 42 Jackets…

It's possible but it's not sure when FW produce again’

In this one they're talking about the 42 jacket.
They're saying, that the fabric is WWII denim, darker, coarser compared to the more blue 47 one.

This was my takeaway from the video too.
the 42 and 47 are different blues but the 44/45 & 42 are close but possibly different.

I have re-watched the 44-45 review again, and I think the fabric on the 42 is similar - dark blue black and rough textured, but different between the two.

I have asked Seiichiro if he knows
