i have a pair of 1001s that ive had for about a year now. i stopped wearing them after the last semester of school because both front pockets ripped due to pulling my phone in an out of them so many times. there is also a hole thats starting to form in the crotch. I presoaked them once and after that its been straight gnarliness. ill put up some pictures soon before i take them to a tailor

You may want to wash them before you lay those on a tailor...

Think it's time to hem my 3001s. I probably won't get them chainstitched (oh well) but the leg twist on the left means it stacks really, really awkwardly and I'm not tall enough to pull off a cuff (meaning I've either got to have a HUGE cuff or a double cuff).

Does anyone know whether any of the Tokyo-area Flat Head shops have a chain-stitching machine (or any other hemming capability) on site?

i don't remember the names of the stores, but most denim stores in tokyo (at least in the shibuya/harajuku areas) have chain stitch machines. from my experience, they don't charge for any in-store purchases.

I'm having a hard time finding independent stores w/stock. I was thinking about trying to hit the Hachioji Flat Head store since I'll be in the area. So I'm wondering if I can get them hemmed at TFH store or whether I would have to take them elsewhere.

Wearing the FH1001s for the first time, and trying out stacks rather than cuffs, still not sure about em

^^^Pretty good fit on those 1001s. How did you size on those. I went true and they were super slim around the lower thighs and knees. I am definitely a fan of stacking but it looks like yours will continue to settle making the stacking even more intense. You could lose a couple of inches and still have a good stacking look IMHO.

Just brought my jeans to the tailor. 70$ for two replaced front pockets, crotch repair and some stitching. Can anyone tell me if the old asian lady ripped me off or is that a decent price?
