Uh size up 1 I guess. (Size 33)

I'm normally a 32. But according to the site..the bsp run small. They a bit tight on the waist at first..but it already stretch'd out alittle bit.

For reference : I"m 5'7 160lb.

I did a 45 hot soak.

sizing up or down is from your true waist - the measurement above your hip bones, below your belly button. Not from your usual jean size.

I just got a few flat head shirts/jeans and wanted to see what you guys thought.

I got the flathead 4001bk in size 34. I actually measure the waist to be around a 33, it's definitely not a 35. I can get them zipped up, but they're extremely tight. They are perfect from the thigh down for a slim fit and my butt fills them out perfectly. This is all pre soak. If I didn't have to soak them, I think they'd stretch out nicely and be a great fit. I just worry that if I soak them, they'll end up being way too tight. What do you think? I guess my options are soak them and deal with it, return them and wait until some new ones come in that have an actual waist size of 34-35, or order 1001's in a size 36.

I also got a flat head flannel. It fits slim, but good. I'm used to fitted shirts, but not slim. If I raise my arms up/out, almost like a bench pressing action, the shirt gets tight in the back around my shoulders. Is that how they're supposed to fit?

Flat Head chambray in 42. This is just about right in the shoulders, sleeve length and vertical length. It's a bit too slim in the body though. I see that the 44 is about 1.5 inches longer, but it will shrink. Has anybody gotten these to shrink more than .5? The length on the 42 is about perfect, but an 1 inch longer will be too much.

Thanks, jasutek. I had been thinking lately that I should've gone true to size and just endured the stretching...

Uh you're definitely gonna need to get at least one size up. If you don't soak them at the beginning and you wash or soak them later they will then shrink to an unwearable size from the fit you have currently described.

Just got a pair recently. What do you want to know? I actually had a question about mine. I forgot to measure the length pre soak, but they're listed as 37. I did about a 20-30 minute warm soak and the inseam measures 37. They shrunk in the thigh from 12.25-12, knee 8.75-8.5 and hem from 8.5-8.25. Should I soak again to make sure I got the length good?

They're a great slim fitting jean. Glad I stuck with them.

id like to see yours cure...they seem to be coming along particularly fast

my BSPs got put through a weekend of freezing cold and snow in the storm that hit upstate NY this weekend while i was on vaca with my girl...theyre starting to get a lot brighter, but still not worth posting pics

i wear my diors too much haha...the BSPs will be getting much more wear though throughout the winter

I just picked up some SE05BSP's in a 33, but after an hour hot / warm soak the fit in the top block feels really off and it seems to balloon out in odd places in the crotch and seat. I had no problem buttoning them - the waist is snug, but not tight like the first wear of APC NS.

I'm looking for a more fitted look like sidneylo's fit on the SE website. Should I size down to a 32 or a 31? Waist measure 2" below navel is ~32". I wear a 29 APC NS and the fit in the top block is spot on.

Thanks

Yeah very important here NOWAY

Those were 4001BK? They're supposed to be 37" raw. Which means your soak didn't shrink them at all.

The description on Self-Edge says they'll shrink about 2.5 in length. (also, 0.25" shrinkage in the thigh, knee, hem is not very much... they have a lot left)

Throw them in a hot wash, and hang dry them. That'll get them nearly as small as they'll get (without using a dryer) and you won't have to worry about a future wash making them unwearable. This way if they're too small, you know it early and don't waste wearing time on them. You can sell them and get a bigger pair.
