Hey Gun are you also doing your denim in Hawaii fabric instead of just the hank dye one?

denim for jeans will be the current one, jacket will be using Hawaii fabric:)

Great job Gun. Work on the back pocket placement and those jeans will be prefect. Straight cut has my name written all over it ;)

P.S. My credit card is out my wallet. lol

thanks mate:D

Went to pick up the single needle union special machine today, beautiful.

Too bad, Pi$tol, that they are not ready for purchase as of yet. Don't lose your cc! :P

Gun, just curious, the new cuts will be made with ur new machines? Would you be waiting until you get all your machines in before starting production? That would be so sweet! :)

yes they will be made with all of the machines as shown, I got all of the union special machines that are suitable for jeans :)

damn... straight cut and a type III-influenced jacket (like the way Ande Whall took inspiration from the Levi's Type III but made it his own) with hand-pockets, in sweet-ass Artist denim for sweet-ass Artist prices: lock it in!

thanks for the idea man, I'd some idea on the jacket, however It'll stay pretty close to Type III.

I love how obsessed you've become with vintage, legit machines! I don't want to imagine how much money you've just dumped on your tailoring shop. But I look forward to seeing the results (maybe in person)!

yeap, my wallet is pretty much empty now:o

your challenge has been accepted! I'll try to make you denim porn :D

how much does the 40400 hawaii denim shrink, and then what does it stretch out to?

Also, is it loosely woven or tightly woven?

doesn't shrink much, around 1-1.5" in waist(will stretch back after few wears), 0.5"in leg opening, I'm not really sure about how loose or tight the weave is really sorry.

+1

Gun, I hope you don't mind my suggestions.

Maybe the measurements should be something like for the straight fit

waist: 34

front rise: 11

back rise: ~15 (depending on how low you want the rise to be)

Thigh: 12.5-13

Knee: ~8.75

Hem: ~8.25

O yea, these are for post-wash

These are just my thoughts. I think many people around here prefer this fit (correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, Gun, I can see that you don't slack when it comes to quality. In the end, I'm very confident that you will come up with a fit everyone will be happy with.

I heard about the tailor issue. I admire your determination to create quality jeans. Continue doing what you love. ;)

this where all the straight talk started from so a 34 will be 34, and a 32 will be a 32

Hey Gun,

I was browsing through your site recently and found out that you use 100% polyester thread. I don't remember who it was, but I recall someone from this thread stating that the thread was 100% cotton in one of the earlier posts. If you don't mind me asking, Why do you choose to use 100% polyester thread as opposed to cotton outer/poly core? Although it may sacrifice a bit of durability, I think it gives the denim a lot more character as it "fades" and ages with the denim.

Also, any updates on the new cuts? You've been keeping everyone on their toes.

There's some talk about you in the Sugar Cane Denim Thread. http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=5154&page=442

Do you think you could get your hands on the SC40300 denim? The denim looks absolutely amazing(mikecch's pair is no exception).

What is the new denim being used?

what products are you going to use it on?

and I dont like totes, i think yours are excellent, but i cant see myself using one. Id prefer a denim duffel bag or even back pack with untanned leather used on the tougher parts.

that's just personal projects, I was practicing on the single stitch machine :)

why would you say 32, when the waist after a wash is a 34?
take a look at his slim fit, tagged 32 is 35 raw

waist will be oversized by two from tagged size, due to the shrinkage around 1-2" that may occur :)

my mistakes, it's cotton outer/poly core that's what they try to explain to me, they said that the thread that I'm using is a blend of cotton and poly but I don't know how to translate it in English, thank you.

I can't get a hands on that denim, I only have two type of denim available in hand and I think that hand dye denim is really nice, it has different shade of blue, it strongly holds color even after wash. although It may not fade fast but it last.

Oh man, are the straight cut available yet? Do a sufu pre-release :)

I called my tailor every two days, we just finish fixing durkopp button holes machine.

he said that he is working on new cut right now, it will be on time :)(might be a little late in my opinion)

and sorry you guys for my bad English, I'm not a native speaker, I can't really explain everything in decent words but I can assure you that I'm doing everything I can to have the finest materials, finest construction, finest tailors to get the finest jean made

thank you :)

I've been away for a week in the sun, and treated the jeans to some serious warmth, sand, the odd splash of Atlantic salt water. Some first fading is, at long last, visible, so you get a pic update, the one with me wearing them giving you a faint idea (really the faintest, I do know, but imagine a surface like the one visible here going on for as far as you can see, in every direction) about the desert-like areas I took the jeans through. Rather an experience, to be the lone human for miles, within all that sand and all those rocks.
