I'm pretty new here and I just discovered the photo threads. there are some really good images here.

heres a smattering of some of my work from 2 years ago and this year. I dont have all my work with me or scanned, but heres what I have on my computer right now.

fornicatard - i use a nikon d200 and a d80 for digital stuff. the b/w and girl by the coast are from a holga camera, and the tin type is a negative from a nikon f2 which i turned into a lithfilm positive then made the tintype. I also use a crown graphic 4x5 camera, a yaschica lm 120, and a zeiss ikonta B (which, when folded, fits in the back pocket of my 501s)

i have more alaskan photos, but i havent developed the 4x5s yet. i'll post them when developed and scanned.

Just with the image I posted above what is everyones thoughts on the darkness? Elsewhere someone said that I should add a +2 bracketed exposure from the raw. I'm not sure if it's just me but if I ever do some PP like that I completely go off the image as I know deep down the original didn't resemble the final at all and it just seems overly fake?

wisie i like the darkness. it contrasts really well with the sky.

but then again i just like dark pictures.

I don't think the photo needs any bracketted exposure. I like how dark it is, and you seem to have a full range of value. a +2 bracket might allow you to get more information within the rocks on the lefthand side, so you could try that and see how you like it, but i'd be happy with how it is if I were you.
