Probably an ignorant question, but can someone breakdown the difference between 011, 012, 013? Are they simply denim variations or cut as well? More or less a tapered version of 005/007?

The 011 , 012 and 013 are all slim tapered fits in the following denim respectively: indigo warp/grey weft and left hand twill/indigo warp and indigo weft/signature indigo denim with un-dyed weft.

The X005 and X007 are slim straight fits with a wider leg opening to the slim tapered fit. The former uses the same denim as the X013, the latter the same as the X012.

Thanks mate, appreciate it. I noticed some variation in measurements on BiG, thought there might be a subtle cut difference too.

There will always be some slight variation when different fabrics are used in the same pattern but they are all basically the slim tapered fit.

Just washed my contest 012 after a weekend of camping and riding logs down the river....

9 1/2 months of wear

1st machine wash (I think?)

2 soaks

Contest Jeans have been officially relegated to "Workshop and Bike ride" Jeans, so I'm expecting much more damage and a higher frequency of washes. Here they are after the last shop day:

I had to machine wash them twice to get all of the grease out!

Anyone have advice on the shrinkage for the  24oz denim?

I don't know if it helps you out at all but here are my pictures of before and then after soak.  I didn't take actual measurements, though.  It basically went from everything feeling about 1 size too big to perfect.

^Still looking great midnite9, and it looks like they've held up pretty well, so you can enjoy them for a long time to come. IMO the XX-012 react amazingly to washing and get better each time they come out of the machine.
