Eternal Jeans

Picked up a pair of 811's for my brother while I was in Japan. I would have preferred the raw version but could only find the one-wash version. I am a true 32, but my brother is slightly bigger, around a 33.

I tried on a 31 and a 32. For myself, I would have gone with a 31. I could barely button up to the top, and I'm sure if I wore them I would have had irregular bowel movement for a week, but they were a nice and fitted through the thighs (mine measure around 21" FYI).

The 32 fit decently on me as well, by no means baggy in the thigh and hip flare is barely noticeable. The waist is snug, but there's some bulging in the crotch due to the looser top block. The 32 basically fits my brother like the 31 fit on me. Oh, the 32 came with the red tag while the 31 came with the newer blue tag on the coin pocket. Sorry for the lack of fit pics. I didn't get a chance to take any before I gave them to my brother... If I get some later on I'll post them on here.

One thing that I noticed what that there was some serious leg twist going on from the one-wash. It appears as though the front of the jeans is cut narrower (or shrunk more) than the back (i.e. when folded at the outseam, they don't line up at the inseam). I found this a little annoying because the stitching at the inseam is less visible when viewed from the front, giving the illusion that the jeans are bootcut. I know leg twist is part of raw denim, but in this case it doesn't look so good. I guess I'm particular...

My brother tends to be more active in his jeans, perhaps even abusive at times, although this is his first pair of raw denim. These should look pretty interesting after 6 months. Don't worry, I've instructed him NOT to throw these in the wash any sooner than 3 months.

^^Thanks for the stream of consciousness Joyce. I will recommend your ramblings to my lit -nerd denimhead friends for rabid dissection. Or not.

Less talk, more pix. Or even just less talk.

guys i have question.

i found some 811s in Rakuten.

but tabs on the models are various.

some has blue one, red, or even has nothing beside the back pocket. (instead there was one next to the coin pocket.;)

what i want to ask is,, is it fake? and what is the genuine form of 811 eternal?

good day

These Eternal 872's have been my every day work jean for about 8 months now. Total wear is somewhere over 1 year. They have had numerous washes since I have had them. I sized up on them so I could wear long underwear with them in the Winter time. For the most part the color and contrast is pretty true (I didn't bother with editing the photographs), but I would say the lights are quite a bit lighter in person.

You can see how badly the pocket bags are torn up where they attach. I'll be repairing them soon (hopefully). I actually discovered I have some new holes in the bags themselves (I guess from keys) right before this photo shoot.

The first thing that got repaired only a few short months into them being a work pair of jeans is the button holes. They were pretty well torn through in a very short amount of time so I reinforced them thoroughly (Which can't really be seen all to well after all the washes they have been through).

Crotch is on the verge of a major failing.

The left knee is pretty shredded. I guess I kneel with my left knee a lot and move with my right leg when I'm working.

The back patch shriveled up long ago (Still remained soft). It recently started separating from the jeans.

I apologize for the messy fire pit area. Spring cleanly hasn't exactly happened in every part of my yard.
