IH-555-03

SIZE 36

I just got my IH-555-03 in a size 36. The cut on these feels very similar to my 7301's and 301's. The denim is very stiff. I did some comparison measurements. My 7301's are a year old with two washes. I wear them about once a week.

IH-555-03 IH-7301

Waist 38.34 37.8

F-Rise 11.75 10.8

R-Rise 16.8 15.5

Thigh 13.15 13.4

Knee 8.75 8.75

Hem 8.0 8.19

Inseam 38 35.5 (cut by Self Edge)

Love the visible selvedge on the IH-555's

Wow, those a big measurements on the 555 - even bigger than those on the IH site. Did you go TTS?

I went what I would consider TTS. I wear a size 36 in all my denim including IH 301's, SG 2109, Samurai 701's and Pure Blue Japan XX-007's. The waist is comfortable and the fit in the thigh area is good (not overly tight but slim)

UkeNo You should check out the Iron Heart Forum viberg boot thread.

http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1685.195

I think there are 2 people that want those boots and Giles just need 4 people wanting the same boots to order from Viberg. Anyways check the thread, as theres a good chance you will be able to cop a pair. Or contact Giles at IHUK for more info

Just read up on the IH thread.

Unfortunately a little to steep for me now at $750USD

Maybe had they been on sale or sub $500.

Oh well. Still good to see they're being made again. Maybe I'll be able to handle them at th Chainstitch massacre.

Thanks for the help guys.

3 months in on my 666-XHS:

Good whiskers, but some heavier wear on the crotch:

For example, this hole appeared and quickly went the whole way through:

Strange wear mark I get on all my jeans:

Both legs, really:

The hem. I had them hemmed and thought the whiskers and combs would take up the rest. I was wrong. The wear is from me wearing them barefoot. Stack fine with sneakers/boots:

That's not a bad question - not sure there's an objective 'right' answer - but there are some companies making things of similar top quality like IH but not sure if anybody has the same focus on weight.

I feel as though IH is truly the embodiment of an actual workwear clothing company. Essentially, Carhartt, but made in Japan and of a much higher quality. I get the impression that a lot of people are attracted to the brand because--for the most part-- it wears hard and provides the most bang for your buck. It's certainly not a fashion brand, in the sense of the word as it is understood around these parts.

If you are just looking to find brands that are of similar quality (i.e., attention to detail, well built clothes, etc.) then I suppose you could look at Flat Head or Samurai for denim, adding in others for tops and accessories.

I would take a look at the brands Self Edge carries as a quick primer. And BiG after that.
