Here are my APC new cures, @ 3 months, with 1 rain soak @ 2 months...

Also the past month I havn't been able to wear them much, since I work fulltime and can't wear jeans to work... :|

Going to wash in 1 month ( i don't care if they are "not ready" )

These were taken in direct sunlight with no flash, so pretty much natural color

Stuff starting to come in, nothing spectacular yet...

will put these in here for posterity's sake:

so here are my suminando's before i sent them off to 45rpm soho to get some repairs done again. they're 2.5 years old, worn for half that time maybe. there's very little whiskering because i travelled a lot in them (to shady-ish places) and had to keep my passport/wallet in my front pockets. the blue hue that comes through is hard to capture.. but it's evident in the right light. love these jeans, but they take forever to break in... maybe that's a good thing though

i wanted to be able to wear my APCs outside of work. wearing dusty clothes like that isn't really healthy and i'd prefer not to be followed by a cloud of dust. i still kind of regret not wearing them to work though, since the results would be much more interesting.

I work construction too, I've been working on a pair of RRLs. I wore them for about a month or two on and off before I wore them to work, and I have worn them at work for 2 months straight 8 hours a day. I think I'm going to wash them this weekend as they are disguisting now, I have never soaked or washed them yet. I'll try to get pics up before/after I wash.

Alright here are some crappy quality pics of my RRL slim bootcuts.

As I said earlier, been worn for about 3-4 months, two of those being hard, everyday wear on a construction site. One initial warm soak, no other soaks or washes. I probably will do a wash this weekend because they are disguisting now! I'll try to get higher quality pics in natural light before/after wash, because these don't do them justice. I'm also thinking about tapering these, has anyone ever done this to RRLs? The bootcut works fine over my steel toe work boots, other than that I hate the bootcut.

sympathy - interesting sort of crease in the leg you have there. do you iron your jeans?

thanks! no, actually i don´t iron them, but in 2004 LVC had a limited edition(you can finde em in the LVC catalogue thread) of the s501xx, called "rust and blue" these where imo the best prewashed of levis, also these had the iron creases... i took it as inspiration for my pair and ironed them from bottom to the knees(cause i didn´t want to loose my combs) and then i used sandpaper on that sharp crease to maintain that look, from now i don´t have to iron them anymore ;)

yes...i remember reading that cowboys would wear their jeans with an ironed crease as well as starch to make the jeans look fresh. does the sandpaper help the jeans to crease naturally down the leg even without ironing?

also, are the arcs also painted on a la wartime levi's?

all in all a very comfortable looking pair of jeans. :)

hm.., in fact I don´t want a real crease, but it should look like a vintage jeans, which once, many years ago had always been ironed by the first owner ;)

I have to mention, that this was the only time, I used sandpaper on them, all other fading and creases came naturally.

yes, these are a perfect repro, the arcuates are painted, the pocket lining is made of shirt clothes, laurel leaf donat button, reduced rivets(these were the first 501 without crotch rivet and cinch, all was gone due to wartime regulations) these s501xx´s are much more authentic than the 1990s 555 valencia repro´s... this why I love em, it´s in the details :)
