I'm looking into BBDO advertising. Supposedly it's one of the world's biggest marketing/advertising firms and I want to probably work there after I finish my 3 year major..

I know there's a firm in Tokyo at the Harumi Triton Square.. I'm really amped for this..

anyone know if they have any connections with P&G?

I'm also looking into Ogilvy Advertising..

Matsuzawa Yasuhide feels the bare buttocks of a young female standing in front of him. His hands are deft and purposeful, moving in circles on her cheeks, pausing, squeezing and administering sharp pats. A short dialogue ensues, after which the girl nods earnestly, thanks Matsuzawa and pays him two hundred yen for his efforts.

hmm, apparently, rumpology isn't something only unique to japan.

i learn something new every day.

any recommendations from the tokyo suit types of where to go for suiting?

ive been in a casual work environment but im seriously thinking of looking for a new job and i need some suitage for interviews and shit.

my current suit situation doesnt cut it.

looking for more modern cut stuff but not like dior homme super slim style.

my current best idea is just to buy some jil sander stuff since i assume they're having the sale times.

jil is always a good idea, but the stocks might be seriously depleted by now.

What type of cut?

English? American? Italian? Japanese (Italian but slimmer)?

Price range?

Off the rack or made to measure?

Jil Sander is good quality but the cut is very very boxy.

I've seen your frame; you're skinny and not full at the chest.

Personally a Jil Sander suit would make you look sickly and fragile.

I say go Italian or Japanese. I think a Dolce & Gabbana or similiar lower priced point suit would look good on you. Some of the domestic makers make great reasonably priced suits. Also check out Isetan's made-to-measure line. You can get a Spencer Hart slim made-to-measure from Isetan for around $1,200.

Jil Sander should be a good call. Prada cuts are clean too, but pricey.

I have a tailor in HK that has my measurements and sends me things for cheaper than I can get here whenever I need them.... so I haven't had anything made to fit here.

Also a lot of people I work with swear by 英國屋 http://www.eikokuya.co.jp/ but I think their styles seem a little more classic, like B. Bros.

edit: I guess Rajio is right about your frame and Jil Sander, actually personally I think you should just rock the super slim.

yeah ive always had a dilemma with suits though.. im skinny but i have broad shoulders and long arms so im stuck with the shitty situation where i cant find a suit with a good fit that balances the slimness, the fit in the shoulders and the arm length.

probably going to check out the mtm but i assume that will take some time.

i dunno, i was looking to spend like 2 grand tops if i can find something that really works for me

id prefer off the rack since i just cant get over the fact that mtm seems like a pain in the ass and i am a lazy bastard

but yeah, as i said before in my limited experience looking for suits the shoulder/slimness fit ratio just doesnt seem to work for me on japanese cuts

im probably best off with the italian cut, what other brands do the italian slim style cut besides dolce?

again, thanks a lot for the help

shopping for this type of stuff gives me a headache

I don't even know if Egpt was joking but, yeah, I personally think it looks too stylin for the office. Especially in Japan where when I wear a suit any color other than navy blue to work its draws gasps.

I know I recommended the super slim before Goo, but I guess I didn't read your whole post the first time, but if you're looking for a "work suit" then I would avoid cuts that are considered too "fashion forward", especially just from beginning/interviews.

Of course, I've seen people pull off the dior look (usually fashion related business people though) and depending on whatever industry you're working in the dress code expectations vary.

you can't tell a $2000 suit from a $500 one so don't even go there. seriously.

get a ready to wear and alter for $100 or so.
