never hit a black before, but i can vouch for illadelph bongs, my brother has an 18" beaker bottom with a pre cooler and splash guard. the illadelph splash guards are nice, and the thing is sturdy and melts your face

I don't understand the price-to-weight ratio at all you're talking about, but if it were me I'd get at least a QP for that little.

I've never had a problem with checked luggage but that probably doesn't mean it's a good idea. I usually throw a bag inside a pill bottle that actually has pills in it, put the cotton stuff on top and throw it deep in my bag.
