lechon kwali from salo salo (any filipino socal heads eat here? super bomb) garlic fried rice, and pork eggrolls

Salo Salo is alright, I prefer Pinoy Pinay right around the corner. But as my mom puts it: "Don't go out and buy food we can get at a party every other weekend."

Bacalao(Salted codfish) cheek meat, covered wit gelatinous bacalao jaw, served with an acacia honey emulsion

dsc4046assmartobject1.jpg

Roasted tomato salad and its own cool water.

The tomato was soaked in calcium water which made it so sweet it tasted like raisins

dsc4048assmartobject1.jpg

Ravioli with crab and fresh walnuts, in a clear, citrus scented consomme.

dsc4049assmartobject1.jpg

Carpaccio accompanied by a sweet and sour dressing, topped with idiazabal cheese and vegetable spinters

dsc4051assmartobject1.jpg

Its actually made from watermelon, dehydrated then grilled

Buttery Idiazabal cheese gnocci in salted iberian pork boullion. Literal melt in your mouth experience

Tradition, Ocean and land: Braised Iberian Pork tails and pan fried langoustines. Reduced braising juices infused with iberian jamon. Possibly the best dish Ive ever had

dsc4060assmartobject1.jpg

img4632assmartobject1.jpg

Red Fruits with an uncooked orange leaf soup.

dsc4062assmartobject1.jpg

Several spoonfuls of clashing contrasts: Celery Ice Cream with Candied Celery Root and Edible Flowers.

dsc4063assmartobject1.jpg

WARM ARTISAN TABLET with whipped honey and oats

Vanilla foam with a warm "tablet" made with honey and oats, used to mimick a bar of soap and soap bubbles.

dsc4068assmartobject1.jpg

img4643assmartobject1.jpg

Amusing rising towel that everyone mistook for more food

Hahaha, at the very end of the dinner the waitress brought me this tiny white candle. The entire thing is made out of white chocolate, including the wick! It also had some sort of lemony filling.

Earlier this week.. Lunch at Sango.

3906275930_3f3c702f13.jpg

I always found this place odd, just the combination of Japanese and Burgers wouldn't normally make sense, but then again, most things delicious don't, so what the hell.

First, Chili Burger. Gracious amounts of chili over molten cheese.

3905492683_391daa317a.jpg

Second was a BLT.

3905493801_f12e44a9c2.jpg

And with that came knobby thumb sized cut chips.

3906274716_5d0ab79593.jpg

To knock it all down, uber thick milkshakes. Texture felt closer to sipping melted Ice Cream through a straw, damn good.
