Unknown Japanese Brands

I was at a sale at a United Arrows store in Jpn (around Harajuku) and I picked up some super-cheap selvage for my housemate. Some jeans that were 15000 marked down to 70000 on sale. The back patch (that should usually be leather) is painted denim and it says (with a slanty I) "Incestrus". No shit. What sort of a brand name is that?

I'll try to get some pics today.

dont really know that much about them and unfortunately the waist tag is gone. From what I've read on Jeanspavilion these were made in the summer of 1998.

fit:

one of the best things about these is that the red tab says: CO-C=C-CO which I think is the molecular structure of indigo or something like that.

edit did some more investigating and found out that these are the 66-model and the CB501-P is the XX-model.

Yeah, I did. Got two pair, proxied from Masataka, for 200usd, including the shipping. They are 14.5oz raw, sturdy, nice denim, sturdy looking patch and the stitching looks sold too. Can't tell you how they will wear yet. Still in the shipping bag they came to me in, although I did try them on. I have no idea why they were so cheap. First impression....get you some!

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with UES? HJJ did a write up on the brand on his blog (click here for link) which I feel got a bit overlooked in the following months.

According to the article: "UES makes four models; 400R Regular straight, 400S Slim straight, 400B Bootcut, and A401XX Classic, which resembles a 1937 501 in details, but the cut is regular with a normal rise.

All models are unisex and therefore the rise on all models is medium height.

The denim used is a dark and stiff 14.9oz denim for all models except the A401XX which has a lighter shade but still stiff denim."

In any case, the denim looks pretty amazing!

My man edmond or hjj can you shed any more light?

i found a pair today! multiple actually. it seems like they have quite teh stock in the real mccoy osaka store. i didnt pick up a pair cause i have my heart set on the sda wrangler repros.

the feel of the denim reminds me alot of the denim used on the '66 lvcs. they had em at a decent price point too 15000 for the ones without arcs and 20 for the ones with.

Has anyone heard of a brand called Seven Frog? (yes, with no 's')

I got it as a gift from a Japanese friend of mine after I told him I'm into Japanese denim.

The parcel says "JEANS"

I'm guessing the arctuate on the right back pocket represents number 7. Denim is hairy and quite light; I'd say around 12-13 Oz. The silhouette is pretty much a slim straight. (Felt like a DH 19cm with higher rise when worn)

Buttons feel pretty flimsy I think they are made of aluminium.

Very weird looking selvedge. Also unfortunately no chain stitching.

Selvedge-Lines.jpg

Hidden selvedge in the coin pocket.

Pocket bags are plain yellowish white with this cutsy green stamp.

Inner stitching on back pockets starts pretty wide and narrows down towards the end. I also kinda like the curvy top. Nifty.

Would have been preferable if these were Denim Junkie or Somet or TFH. :P Oh well, at least this is not half bad.
