Yeah, I did. Got two pair, proxied from Masataka, for 200usd, including the shipping. They are 14.5oz raw, sturdy, nice denim, sturdy looking patch and the stitching looks sold too. Can't tell you how they will wear yet. Still in the shipping bag they came to me in, although I did try them on. I have no idea why they were so cheap. First impression....get you some!

pics and measurements please!

been looking for them for ages! would you mind telling the exact location of the real mccoy osaka store? a phone number would do as well. thanks in advance.

i found a pair today! multiple actually. it seems like they have quite teh stock in the real mccoy osaka store. i didnt pick up a pair cause i have my heart set on the sda wrangler repros.

the feel of the denim reminds me alot of the denim used on the '66 lvcs. they had em at a decent price point too 15000 for the ones without arcs and 20 for the ones with.

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with UES? HJJ did a write up on the brand on his blog (click here for link) which I feel got a bit overlooked in the following months.

According to the article: "UES makes four models; 400R Regular straight, 400S Slim straight, 400B Bootcut, and A401XX Classic, which resembles a 1937 501 in details, but the cut is regular with a normal rise.

All models are unisex and therefore the rise on all models is medium height.

The denim used is a dark and stiff 14.9oz denim for all models except the A401XX which has a lighter shade but still stiff denim."

My man edmond or hjj can you shed any more light?

just FYI, takashi-san is currently rotating four pairs of jeans, and one of them is UES 400s.

(others are sugar cane 1947, evisu 2000 and full count T1108.)

yeah, thats the place I visited last month as well. you are right, staff was very friendly and helpful. I tried on the McCoys S614; turns out they already had the arcs removed (new batches wont have Levis style arcs anymore)

btw did you find the other shops around Shinsaibashi; there was also a Warehouse shop (were i bought my Duckdiggers), Dry Bones shop, Denime shop, Studio D'Artisan shop and Fullcount shop.

In Tokyo I tried on the UES400R but was really disappointed in the fit. Still, ill probably pick up the UES400S next time im in Japan. The Denim is really amazing.

anyone have any idea about this pair? i found it in a flea market many years ago but till now still don't have any info on this brand. Tag says "Workers". the denim is really great, no honeycombs or whiskers but it's really textured with watermarks and 'root lines' which i feel is even harder to achieve.

  • 2 months later...

Yes I have! They make really nice tops like plaids work shirts and long sleeve t-shirts. Really soft cotton. Mostly vintage- type of clothing but more along the lines of Hollywood Ranch Market. The cuts are straight repro. I think I copped a LOT B401. I will post pics on the next go around.

If you get a chance definitely check out the store in Daikanyama. It'll give you a bigger picture than what they carry online. The web site link has been posted before, but I'll stick it here again.

Didn't do a search through this thread yet so I'm not sure, but I keep trying to push the UES brand...surprised I haven't seen more! Anyone give in and buy yet?

I have a pair that I bought like six months ago, still didn't put any wear in it tho...

strange question but coleslaw and Tiro, how does your nutsack fit in those UES? I tried on a pair of 400R and they looked pretty weird around the crotch area.

don't seem to remember any problems with that on my 400R...

fit was pretty good, I'll try them on one of these days and get back to you on that :D
