Happy jeans: TCBxSufu S40s WW2 contest thread

Some nice updates here. i myself have come to the conclusion that these are just not working out for me. I need a bigger size. If anyone is interested in my size 33, no.124 is now officially available. So just let me know... They’ve been soaked/cold wash initially and I have worn them for like 2 days max. I will be getting a regular size 34 at one point. Just not now as I just got a $600 speeding ticket that pretty much messed up my budget...

yeah but how do they already have it and TCB doesn’t? unless they are just taking pre orders. also, I’m hoping sizing on the new batch will be the same...

I was also very suprised to see this. As Ryo told me the regular run would be ready mid October... Haha I like how u put that. Honestly I have been wearing Ooe’s WW2 cut for like 8 years straight now. (I have 4 pairs of those) I love the ‘44 501 repro’s but I’m quite surprised at how slim these 40s actually are in the top block, no hip flares even...

Haha I usually never use it on denim either. Just pondering on a way to lose some of that itchiness. lol Guess it’s the combination of starch, hairy denim and a smaller then ideal size...

Ok so I’m chucking these in the machine again. Hoping to lose a bit more rise, length and itchiness... anyone used any soap and or fabric softener yet? The itch is killing me when the sun is out...

Superb Fit! I’m still struggling with the cuffs myself... Damn that’s nice man! Does your wife happen to travel to Antwerp from time to time? ;-))) I am so jealous of people that master the art of drawing. I can’t draw a stick man to save my life lol... anyhow, day 3 update: these are (literally) growing on me. The waist is now at a few mm’s from 43cm. That’s beyond raw measurement. I’ll most likely wear these for 18 months without too much of a problem. I am considering another cold soak or wash to get rid of some more starch. They still feel quite sandpaperish on my inner legs. Unless someone has another suggestion to get rid of this feeling... (the thing I hate most about new jawnz.) I guess a beer gut is just not a good combination with super high rise jeans. So every soak or wash will likely be a struggle. I’m definitely getting one of these in 34 OW when the regular production run starts. But I’m also really thinking of a pair of 50s.

Nice! U are making me feel the need for a pair of those 50s... Nailed it buddy! Perfect fit. wish I had that much room in the top block.

I thought I recognised em. I also have those, pretty good shoes tbh. Looks like a quite effective way to break in a new pair indeed.

@Broark Looks like those might be PF Flyers... @beautiful_FrEaK oh no I suggested the 4 year contest because of start date and the history. U’ll probably have better fades in less time then I will. I’m still mostly a weekend warrior due to my job.

I’m also still hoping to get a hold of a 34. But honestly these have stretched to fairly comfy in just a couple hours.... sadly thighs don’t stretch and I’m assuming the rise would have shrunk a bit more if I could wash/soak warmer and longer. at this point they fit me like a high rise 66-47 ish cut...

This seems very plausible. Al I know is that Ryo and Hiro based their 03 cut on an actual WW2 501 that they own. So I’m assuming it was the same for the WW2 pair that TCB used.

I was told by Ryo and Hiro a long time ago that this is periodically correct for a WW2 model. Al my Ooe 03’s are also like this.

Not sure yet. I’ll know for sure in the next day or so. The fit was pretty spot on when raw except for the waist that was super tight. So I definitely need the waist to stretch back to raw or even beyond... the rest will be a suprise after they’re dry... :-) Amazing! Love it!

Yeah it’s been my way since back in he days when Naoto taught me and it still is. Old school is my school... ;-) 1 hour in the tub, then an hour in the washing machine to soften them up a bit by getting rid of some starch... (they’re in the washer now) haha @DoitsuJin I’m not too far off from sizing down 3 :-D I used to always go for the bigger size when I was in between sizes. This one time I picked the smaller one... ;-)

After seeing all these fits and not seeing an exchange for a 34 in the near future... I decided to say fuck it and take the plunge with this 33. So in the Sufu tradition of old, here are my soaking pictures of number 124. gave the patch a generous coat of Smiths leather balm then put em in 35ish degrees Celsius water. now I’ll just sip on this bourbon for about an hour to calm my nerves...
