it is not the companies who are releasing shit, though they know about it (and i am sure they share some of the profits), it's bootleggers and the yakuza. it's not at all difficult to distance yourself from illegitimate business or to make shit appear as if there is no connection. i don't expect you to understand japanese business, but this really isn't a difficult concept to grasp...for most that is.
