This was actually a lot better than I was expecting. Reminded me a lot of a Spanish film called Time Crimes. Meant to be set in Florida but clearly filmed in QLD, Australia, and featuring mostly Australian actors (I went to HS with the fake redhead). Worth a look.

Probably gonna cop neg for enjoying this, but premiere with director Q&A was really good!

Fun facts:

-Director (Gareth Edwards) also wrote screenplay, shot the film, and did all the CGI (which was semi-frequent, and of high quality).

-Made on a budget of less than $500,000.

-Only the two protagonists, who are a couple in real life, were professional actors. All other characters were street-cast and paid a nominal fee after signing release forms. When you consider this fact, the guy who plays the ferry ticket salesman is awesome!
