Denime

Recommended Posts

I just ordered the 220a xx offset in 33x30 from Bears.

Never tried STF before so excited and nervous in equal measures. I hope they don't shrink beyond 30inches...

Maybe I should have played it safe and got 32 lenght but hemming is a real pain (no chain stitching near me so need to post them out) and I really prefer a no cuff or very thin cuff.

I've asked Bears to confirm measurements so hopefully that should help. They're always super helpful

Just joined the Denime thanks to @beautiful_FrEaK who happen to sell exact my size! Been eyeing Denime for years and happy to finally have a pair.

Haven't decided yet if I should do a hot soak or just go for a 30degree wash low cycle. The denim is really nice and looking forward to see how they develop over time.

It's Denime 221 with denim from Kurabo Mill

Is Denime denim susceptible to the "veiny" fades, or is that just the washing technique?

I would say that the fabric Warehouse produce now is V V susceptible to the veiny fades (I can't comment on historic fabric), but I have also noticed it promimently in my Buzz Rickson chambray shirt, I guess it's the diagonal pull you get from washing and the warp x weft working against each other (or some such scientific thing).

Happy with the shrinkage. They are very stiff at the moment so look a bit weird but I believe they soften up quickly from what I've read here.

I washed at 40 low spin but think I should get some more shrinkage in leg next wash. Waist is perfect.

These feel like cardboard right now compared to my fullcounts

  • 2 weeks later...

this is a long shot but does anyone have a pair of denime type xx from the shins era? theres a pair for sale that isnt cheap and i cant find a size chart. was wondering if someone has a size chart or if they can expertly tell what size they have in either a washed or stretched state. im looking at a size 31 and they are one wash.

Did you contact me on reddit?
You won't find a size chart. Usually the XX pairs start a little bit over tag size and shrink from there. So a tagged W31 will probably measure 29.5-30" in one-wash state and will stretch to 31-31.5" (all measured flat, waistband aligned). If you are lucky, someone might have posted measurements deep down in this thread.

It would be cool, if WH could answer some questions like that. Do they have a kind of spokes person?
Perhaps the Japanalogue guy can set up an interview. Not sure, if there has been one with WH.

Hey, cheers, are you meaning a Warehouse interview? ✍️

Kind of a long story, but basically I was at Fullcount one day a few years back talking to Tsujita-san, and we got to talking about interviewing his 'kohai' (juniors), the Shiotani brothers. He called them on my behalf and they oddly said they were way "too shy" to do it. Tsujita-san I think was a bit surprised and apologetic. A year or so later, I contacted their 'spokesperson' (as mentioned above) about a separate TV opportunity that had come up, and did not find him to be responsive or friendly in the least.

But...that was years ago, and this post got me to thinking I should just go down there and talk to them directly. That whole thing (and with so many other great denim choices here) kind of put me off the brand, but I really shouldn't have let it. I know many people connected with Warehouse now, so it's probably just a case of me asking again. I can't say I have a massive urge to do so, truth be told, but I do think they are an important brand and many people would probably love to hear the story. The products are also, obviously, very good.

When the twins were just junior high kids, wild about denim, they would go into the jeans shop where Tsujita-san and Yamane-san were working to hang out and buy stuff...how's THAT for some heavy denim history all in one room?! Future Evisu, Fullcount, and Warehouse...
😅 🤯

Yep, that was me. I’ve been looking on Japan auctions through a proxy, communication is impossible. They always list the size but I never know if it’s washed or stretched. Was hoping to find someone on here with exact sizes. I’ve been using the way back machine to find someone archived size charts online with no luck. Those 31’s will probably too tight for me if what you say is true. Now finding someone dead stock will be a challenge.

also wanted to say thanks for the help, your Denime knowledge has been priceless.
