I try to avoid too hot water as I’m always concerned about my leather patch. A temperature of 40-50 °C (not the hottest my shower is capable of) is ok IMO and after the jeans have stayed for 20-30 minutes in that water you can easily put your hand in and agitate the jeans.

I have to use a bucket since I don’t have a tub on hand here, otherwise I would use a tub for the same reasons you said :)

i like the way ues washes their denim and thats how i wash mine (except when they come a bit tight to begin with in which case i follow the kiya method which is to soak with cold water first then wear for a few months then wash it normally (the ues way)). http://ues.co.jp/rainbowcounty/laundry.html

the kiya method really does work though you might think what if the waist shrinks more than it did in the initial soak when i finally have to wash my jeans? in my case (on an mf cali with nos cone denim and a sugar cane hawaii) after several honest machine washes the waist never shrinks below what it did in the initial soak (the inseam did get shorter after the first wash but not after that). it seems like wearing it after the initial soak stretches the denim to a point where when it shrinks again in the wash the waist just goes back to its initial (wash) size.

@ B_f: yeah, that why I place something like an empty bottle under the patch, so that area sticks out of the water. the rest is covered with water. Works pretty fine, but no option if you don't havea tub.

Has anybody sent pictures to Lee yet btw?

after much pondering I decided to get a w36 400t raw pair directly from UES. this way I won't have to bother with hand washes, I'll be able to safely throw the jeans in the machine with no worries. parcel leaving tomorrow from Japan.. can't wait!

First day of real wear (yesterday was only a lazy Sunday with watching „The Hobbit“ extended version + some specials) and I have to say they are a real comfy pair. They give you the room you need/want in the top block, not restrictive in any way but still maintain a slim silhouette due to the tapered cut.

I don’t find the denim to be ubersoft, just like an usual 14,9oz unsanforized denim has to feel after soaking/drying. A nice little crunch is still there.

What I forgot to add: I really like the level of construction. By turning them inside out I didn’t find any loose or spare threads. Everything looked very clean.

^hehe it will only get better (that's what I tell myself)

How is your pair now? Did it stretch to your pleasure?

The beauty of a contest: not to worry or think about what jeans to put on in the morning ;)

They've let out a little.  I haven't been buttoning the top button so it hasn't let out fully yet.  I'll get to it this week. I may wet the waist band this week and just stretch it out in one day.

Bad news for me. the package is "delivered", but not to my postbox. And I didn't get any notice about it being delivered elsewhere, neighbour or post office. On top, the status is "Empfänger: Abruch". which means "Recipent: Abortion", but is misspelled, so it could also be the name of a neighbour. They try to call the driver, but I don't have much hope, as they lost packages before. Man, I'm pissed.

aw that sucks. hold on and give some extra faith to the Deutsche post horn.. maybe a neighbour had signed and collected for you? it happens all the time here in the land of pizza's mandolins and contradictions..

We had a package delivered to the wrong address - a couple of streets away - and signed for. The lady who received it obviously realised the error and kindly brought it to our house on foot (it was a large, bulky package) with her 2 kids in tow. There is still hope for humanity!

Like I already texted you: fingers are crossed!

I talked to Lee again and I will send him our Sufu IDs together with the jeans we wear so he can assign us correctly. So far we are 11 guys from Sufu, right? Lee told me 19 guys ordered from the UES webshop but not everybody from those orders told him to enter the contest. Could also be just some random guys, who knows.

Anyways, Lee is preparing a website/section on the UES homepage just for the contest we everybody will be added with his ID, branding date and jeans.

As I said, I’m going to send Lee our list from the first post of this thread. I thought it could be a nice addition to state from which country we are, so to underline the worldwide contest aspect. Are you guys ok with that?

Ughhh I hate to be this guy, but with the new job requring me to purchase my own tools (and have none of my own), and bills piling up, I will have to pass. Sorry guys, but after the recent purchase I think my gf would beat the shit out of me if I bought another pair of jeans.
