UES Official Contest 2014/1/1 - 2014/12/31

Recommended Posts

Recently I have been in contact with LEE from UES again. You can’t say it often enough, great guy!
We also had some talk about a possible contest. He then told me, that UES is indeed holding a contest pretty soon!
Since UES isn’t that popular in Europe and America (yet), originally the contest had the main target area of Asia (China, Hong Kong and Taiwan). But I asked him if also people from outside that area are allowed to join and he said: â€œOf course!â€.

I am sure you guys want to know more about it. So what are the framework conditions?

Start Date / Duration:

  • The official start date of the contest is 2014/01/01 and it will end on 2014/12/31.
  • This makes 1 year

How Do I Join?

  • Buy a pair of UES jeans from their official webshop or from Danny at Rivet&Hide
  • They will brand the purchase date for their customer on the leather patches. The date should be from 10/15 to 12/31.
  • So, you can already buy a pair right now, get it branded, get it shipped to you and start wearing! LEE said that those few weeks won’t make a difference.

Okay, I bought a pair and got it, what now?

  • Please make at least monthly updates of your jeans, your experience with your jeans
  • Send those pictures to LEE and he will upload them to the UES HP and also to WEIBO (a     Chinese version of Twitter, AFAIK)

What Can I Win? (I know this question will pop up  ;) )

  •  If I understood LEE correctly: A free pair of UES 23oz jeans!

If you got further question, feel free to contact me and I will talk to LEE. Please refer to the sizing charts you see on UES HP. As I don’t own a pair of UES yet, I CANNOT help you here.

If we get together a decent group of Superfuturianer, we might even start a little thread here on Sufu to also share our pictures and to discuss.

Makes the already great cut on the 400 even more tempting. Something I will consider, even if I doubt I got the funds to make it on time...

Maybe i will put the trigger with you then.

Just keep me informed. In my opinion i will need a 34 in those 400t.

And i also need those 4 weeks more.

I just don't know yet which denim that i really want to be my next pair (SC hawaii / Stevenson 767 or this one) my favorite is the 767 or the 400t, i already have an Okinawa so the hawaii can wait but i always says that it can wait...

Anyway keep me informed i'll tell you late this november if i'll buy this or the stevenson.

The cut of the 400t appeals to be but the brown weft puts me off. Hate that brown shade on my denim... Just my opinion obviously.

I don't feel like it's that brown. The fades are beautiful and the catalogue I got from UES shows no particular brown weft or fadings.

@geL: I'd take 34 in the 400T. My Samurai size...

@llvlaglne: as rayw44 quoted and from what LEE told me, the jeans have to be bought from their official webstore as they also have to be branded.

keep in mind those jeans qualify for free shipping. it's hard to beat their price. Of course, if you are from the UK and would like to take the advantage of trying on before buying, I can totally understand you why you asked about R&H!

@cmo: as Max said, I don't see a particular brown weft on those jeans. And he is right, the fades featured in their catalogue and on their HP are amazing and promising!

For the interested ones: I'll take a size 34 in the 400T

Ok ok..... Maybe I was wrong. Pics above of faded examples are great. I think the w34 would work for me. This is what I currently wear in Samurai 710's. Think I might go ahead as the price is pretty good too..

damn, looking forward to this one, thanks for the heads up b_F! I won't be participating for obvious reasons (too many jeans) but will be watching with much anticipation...From what I've seen, this is tough denim to fade and built as jeans should be built so the results within a year will be interesting to see!

If I decide that the sizing can work, I'm in on the contest with a pair of 400R. I have my first wedding anniversary at the start of December so it would be nice to mark the occasion with date-stamped jeans. I also really love the philosophy behind UES and obviously their denim results in impressive fading.

Short list of (possible) contestants:

1. James aka obbigood

2. Johnny aka Scasi

3. geL-

4. cmo

5. llvlagline

6. Sugar Mountain

7. me, myself and I aka b_F  ;)

8. MaxPower

Those are the guys from Sufu that might or are interested. I think if the number of people stays at this amount or get even more, it would warrant an own thread on Sufu too  :)

So, I decided it would be better for this contest and for the original UES thread to create an own "Contest Feeler" thread.

Feel free to discuss, voice your opinion and announce your participation

My opinion: if I get the funds together, I think I'll order my pair in december. Should be fine with the HDC, as I need a cleaner pair for work anyway and thus I'll split wearing them.

I can't believe how great the 400T measurements look, just what I heard many people ask for (regarding the IH 634 for example). I find it easy to get jeans that fit me in the waist and rise, but they usually come with small thighs with a too strong taper or feature giant leg openings. So this cut seems to be the perfect compromise.

was just going to pull the trigger on a new pair of fc's but damn lol have me on the fence now. based on the 400t measurements i think tts should work out fine since the waist for a 32 measures around a 33.5 with a low rise. did they change the selvage on them? i rmb someone posting a pic and the 400t only had half selvage but the pics on the website are full.

yes they changed the cut regarding the selvage. the 400T feature full selvage from now on and you will getthose if you order. UES noticed that the oversea customers prefer the full selvage
