Some cool crumple zones on the lower leg area. The potential is there for some good-natured fades, but will it come to fruition?

Beatle heard from Hajime yesterday with regard to the schedule of the Bybeatle Volume One jeans . All the denim has been cut and is now being stitched. The delay was with the production of the denim itself. There is increasing demand on these small specialist mills in Okayama now that more brands have switched from mills in Fukushima. All stops are being pulled to get the order completed and then I'll get them shipped expedited to the UK.

Thanks to all of you who have pre-ordered for your patience. It will be worth the wait.

Thank you to all the guys who have expressed interest in ordering the HWDC belts. Here is what needs to happen next, as I fly to Tokyo for a week on Sunday morning.

 

- Over the next 8 days please send your 50% deposit to my Paypal address ([email protected]).

 

- You can send 100%, and I would prefer it done this way.

 

- Along with your payment please do not forget to include the following information.

 

- Your name and address.

- HWDC contest number.

- Belt size

- Belt leather

- Belt width

- Buckle number

- Buckle material (brass or nickle)

 

- When I return from Tokyo I will place the order with Crispin and advise how quickly I will require the balance, I suspect 2 - 4 weeks until they are ready to ship.

I really love the quality of those belts, wish I had the money to snag one.  In regards to the one month updates, are some of you even going to have a pair of jeans left at the end of the 2 years

I guess it is around a month since I received the MBB's?!?  Spending the day in the office thought I would snap a quick pic with some natural light.

Challenge 1 - Denim Angel

My mother spent some time in hospital, so I decided to visit her. This is where I set out from.



And this was the destination.



Naturally, the weather in Manchester was wonderful, as always.



My mother has a taste for Belgian chocolate, so I took her a couple of bars.



Once at the hospital, I had to wear a fetching apron. You can see the collar of my HWDC 2 t-shirt poking out there.



On the bus back into Manchester city centre I found someone's bag of shopping, which I handed in. Two angelic activities, my karma must have got a bump up from all that!



And the following week I did it again. This time I had a request for tea cakes, but got hot cross buns as a last minute substitute.

I gave the jeans their first wash a few weeks ago. They're not Sanforized, so I was keen to get all the shrinkage out now, rather than finding out that they'll be two inches two short once we're further into the competition.

The jeans filled up most of the washing machine.



And afterwards I had to take the mandatory indigo stained hand shot.



Lastly, some early evo on the ankles. Unfortunately I don't fall into the Licorice Noose category...

I'd say they're a slimmer version of the 5000. They share the same rear rise and very close knee measurements. But overall a slimmer cut.
