who organized that comp, and why is this the first time i hear about it :(

It was organised (in Chinese) by redcloud - They got 50 submissions - all from Chinese people I guess...

Anyone have a pair of the 1970z's? according to what Red Cloud writes the shrinkage in the thighs is 6 centimeters, seems like a whole lot if you ask me.. Was hoping for some real life input.

I just bought a pair for my Dad, I doubt I'll get any useful information out of him - but if I do I'll post it.

Gregor :)

I dunno what happened to my thread!! Maybe it was not in compliance with some rule?

The cheapest place to buy them is still taobao...

Are you going for the same size?

I think i'll size up 1 this time. Not because the 32's are too tight or anything, just for variety. Although I do find myself expanding a tad with age :)

I've dropped you a PM for some Taobao advice. Hope that's OK.

Haven't got them soaked yet but I love the details and student price :)

Thanks heaps Gregor

PS. r400 fits me perfectly except the feeling of raw denim but I love it though ^_^

^ Oh yeah. I think you have to email them for orders though.

I'm going up to visit Red Cloud in Shenyang this weekend. I'm going to interview the Raymon the owner so if you've got any questions you'd like asked of him let me know by PM and I'll ask him.

Plus I'm trying to convince him to let me help sell his product internationally through a normal website, so hopefully they will be more easily available and with all the necessary info soon! Cross your fingers!

Guys, since we are at this.

Tuckshop & Sundry Supplies webstore is going live today http://www.tuckshopsundrysupplies.com/

Full range of Red Cloud & Co available, shipping worldwide.

And official distributors worldwide for Red Cloud & Co.

Thanks for the heads up, and a question. Are the Wabash pants that over sized? Size 29 measures 33", that is the same as my size 34 jeans. How are you measuring? I am guessing these will shrink considerably.

I looked into getting a pair when they first showed up last year, but these measurements are not what I was given.

thanks

Thanks illumin8em for bringing this up.

The RC wabash pants does shrink considerably. We have yet to try them and get actual measurements pre/post wash. According to Raymon, the owner, RC wabash pants shrink close to tag size.

As we are now setting up the webstore, please send us email if you encounter any issues, inquiries or any glitch with the website.

I was thinking that my first post should be on more info of RC...

But pictures of our visit to RC should be fine too :)

Generally, we went for their next season product previews, really really cool stuff coming up.

Raymon is a friend guy, along with his experienced tailors, we had a fun and enriching time.

added a (almost redundant) selvedge-pocket behind to hold my lofgren cap. pocket fabric is the same as the jacket. color's a bit off because pocket's new.

waiting for it to turn out to be like this:

our visit Red Cloud & Co further convinced us that, Red Cloud & Co is a singled out China made product.

We are very impressed and think that Red Cloud & Co is really a 'gem' in China.

Now Tuckshop & Sundry Supplies is worldwide distributor for Red Cloud & Co.

Here is our thoughts http://tuckshopsundrysupplies.wordpress.com/2012/07/04/red-cloud-co/

Review of R400, Red Cloud & Co staple model by Tuckshop & Sundry Supplies.

Details and more pictures here http://tuckshopsundr...loud-r400-17oz/

The fabric used is Xinjiang Extra Long-Stapled cotton (ELS), one of the world premium cotton often use by luxury brands for its renowed softness.

Right hand twill, ‘Twisted Yarn’ denim fabric weave. (Below for explanation)

Hardwares are all exclusively from Japan. There is an interesting story behind for using all Japanese hardware on a China Made product. I will do another coverage on hardware for Red Cloud & Co.

The cut is straight-cut, low rise. During the experimental period, there were 3 cuts available (60s’, 50s’, 30s’) but that was a part of Red Cloud & Co’s story.

Leather Patch is made of goatskin. Interestingly, FULLCOUNT owner, Miki-san has helped on this.

Here comes the interesting part.

When flip inside-out, you will notice the weave pattern very irregular. The reason for this is what makes R400 the staple model for Red Cloud & Co.

Red Cloud & Co uses what we call ‘Twisted Yarn’ (纬纱åˆè‚¡) to make denim fabric for R400 series.

Apart from the Japanese, the ‘Twisted Yarn’ technique is also achievable by Red Cloud & Co. The process include hand-dye 18 times on warp yarn and hand-dye 18 times on weft yarn. Combine white yarn with weft yarn then weave into fabric.
