ROY X CONE contest, 1.1.11 - 2.1.12

Yesterday the RxCs got some time on SF bay on a friend's houseboat.

This is the Hindeloopen. It was originally a turn of the last century Dutch canal barge. It's has a long and interesting history, but in this incarnation it's been modified into a houseboat. The couple who own it, pictured above, live on it with their daughter. It is apparently wanted back by the Netherlands, but they seem unlikely to give it up.

Its moored in Marin just north of Sausalito.

My RxC have been busy, but I haven't had a chance to get caught up with the photos. And today, we've been assigned chores. Well, the breaks are enjoyable

^Well, the captain said to help ourselves to whatever was on the counter, and shoved way in the back behind the wine was this nearly empty bottle of Macallan 37. It was only polite to have some.

It permanently lowered my center of gravity by about 6 inches. Or so it felt.

the other night we cooked tea... open steak sandwich thing drizzled with condensed milk mayo

woke up to a crispy cool autumn morning

headed north to the opening of the first finished stage of the new coast to coast cycle track

some of our trusty steeds, ready n waiting

started at a wee town with amazing shopping

fog lifted to reveal a perfect day

quite liked this old place... reminded me of the giants garden

ready to roll

800 randoms starting at an old train tunnel... painfully slow

some choice as bros along the way

went in search of kai

found boil up and fry bread but some lady got the last of it

didnt feel like raw fish salad so got a bacon and eggs sandwich instead

went for a wander around the town, found this nice modern art

then home to do a coat of varnish

unpack and clean time

then chucked some sirloin in some pinot noir sauce, drank some local rose while it marinaded

I couldn't resist, wearing the Roy's under the house - to run a new computer cable. What I don't understand, is how I missed the vintage, Dole pineapple can, so many times before? ( I've been under my house more than 20 times in the past 10 years?) I'm starting to think these pants, might be giving me good luck. Farhad and Roy6, looks like a lot of fun!
