This past weekend me, my ROYs, and Mr.6 (seated, left) went to visit my sister, her husband & their new baby at their dude ranch in Arizona.

Insanely good. (I especially like the way you're floating off the floor, like a heavenly visitation, with a cosmic light shining over your ass.)

Eltopo, looking good too - like to see ROYs clear of boots, it's the anti-stacks brigade around here.

Crap, grooveholmes, you exposed me. Rnr left his Wayback machine unattended for a few minutes, and I took the opportunity to step back in time. It looks all innocent in this photo, but not long after it was taken I absconded with past rnr, came back to the future, left past rnr at rnr's house, and destroyed the time machine.

I figured, what better punishment for all of his crowing than having to contend with himself?

You can see past rnr in rnr's last batch of photos, being passed off as his own son.

Originally like the ModelT, you could get them in any colour you wanted, so long as that was black. They were also famous because the were only three or four variants of the key for the door, so there was a good chance that your key would work with someone else's Morris. This, given that they were pretty popular and all the same colour, meant that quite often people drove someone else's car home by mistake from places where a bunch of them were parked side by side ( N.B.: this story may be apocryphal).

A few years ago, when eighties Ford Escorts were more prominant, we often had a few of them on the shop lot at the same time. More than once we drove the wrong car into the bay. We usually caught it before commencing work. I don't think they necessarily had the same key, but the lock cylinders were pretty flimsy, and a few years in, you key only had to be similar to work.

That's the problem with time machines. You can't destroy them. Someone using it in the past can always just show up with it after you destroyed it -- ensuring its existence well past its destruction. It's some pretty heady Time X Space stuff. BTW I'm on her Yay List, too.

^Of all the things, the photographer in England, 1943, blurred Riff's face...

That's what they do when you disgrace the uniform.

Made some 'emu wax' today :)

Ingredients consisting of beeswax, emu oil, eucalyptus oil and a few other additives.

Some really interesting textures too:

Very useful thing - can use it to coat your mammalian leathers, seal your reptilian leathers, reproof your oil-skin (waxed cotton) clothing, water-proof your boots, foreplay, S&M, whatever :)

I have a couple of spare blocks, let me know if you want some!

Ah, it was the Dirty Dozen 2 thread...

emus.jpg

The 'blood' round his chops is from blackberries we found on the walk to this farm... the animal launched an unprovoked assault (he says) and pecked him on the arm. UK people might remember the resonance of being attacked by an emu, it was a celebrated incident on the Michael Parkinson show

?

Or are you talking to eltopo?

Was referring to your nipper's biceps :P

Yo mikecch - I'm intrigued... how much would a block + shipping to the US run?

Shipping to the US is around $17 depending on the exact size of the block, I think.

The upside is that this stuff is super concentrated (no fillers or extra water), so I'm actually sending a lot of 'material' for the weight of the parcel.

Materials is around $8 per 100g, which should last a long time (you only need a finger-tip of this stuff to proof, say, a boot).

Could also think of this as very concentrated leather conditioner 'stock' - add some water and emulsifier and you can easily make a large volume of liquid conditioner from a small amount of emu wax :D

Edit: ooops, didn't really answer the question, but I estimate around $35 for a block shipped.

I only have 3 block to spare, two regular size (similar to the circular containers in 3rd pic of my post) and a larger one (similar to rectangular container in same pic).
