and mike, I love the color composition of that... green background to such strong colours as black and yellow, it's a great shot in terms of color... maybe lessen the amount of shadows in the out of focus background....

are all your shots taken with the tamron 17-50?

i've been thinking of swapping my L 17-40 with the tamron, since im not really happy with my copy

hows the AF like with the tamron? I heard that the build quality aint the greatest but image quality is pretty good..

the landscape shots are taken with a tamron 11-18mm

the rest with 17-50

i read some reviews about the tamron lense and the canon one...some people were complaining that the AF is really loud.

no prob at all for me...for me the lense is perfect for that price, i mean the canon one has IS but is (in germany) 400 euros more exp.

dunno if the image and build quality makes a big difference.

the first 3 are from a trip I just got back from in nova scotia, these were shot with a nikon d100. The other four are from a trip I took in mexico in march, shot with a nikon d2h...
