I was walking to the local shop and he was coming the other way. Spotted it easily. I stopped him and his girlfriend and F’d-and-blinded at him telling him it was mine, stolen etc etc, and that I was getting it back now. He looked shocked. Cobbled together a story about buying it in a charity shop, and that they were from London yada-yada. He said he paid £10 for it. I only had a £20. He handed it over on the spot. I’d also stopped a passer by and asked them to call the police, they looked confused too, and obviously didn’t want to get involved. Think that added nicely to the drama as well He was wearing a t-shirt and holding a jacket so I didn’t leave him shirtless. To give you an indication of who they were, I overheard his girlfriend saying ‘we can get dinner now we have some money’ as they walked off. All in all it worked out fine.6 points

100% cotton stitching vs. poly-cotton stitching I was always an advocate for 100% cotton stitching but I slowly embrace the beauty of having to repair less After wondering why I have never broken stitches and now knowing that Resolute 710 is sewn with poly-cotton I appreciate it more. Also because the jeans till pucker in all the right places and the stitching still ages along the jeans. Looking forward to the Mepse BigE which also uses poly-cotton stitching and how it helds up and will look.2 points

Here's a little personal project: my own protype pair of 125s, from the first draft of the pattern, worn daily for a year or so: Hand dyed indigo in Japan with an Achilles' Heel grip at the back of the waist: The way the indigo sends the darker parts almost purple, while retaining the traintracks, marbling, and teeth, is really lovely I think, as is the watery contrast around the washed undyed denim at the back. I've not yet seen a heavily worn in pair of regular Achilles' Heel jeans, which are dyed while the denim is still fresh, and the fading will be different, but equally lovely I think. As I say this is just a personal pair, but I thought they might be appreciated here!2 points

@mstax I can’t help with your search for Warehouse chinos. However, I own a pair of the FW M-1941 chinos and think they’re great. The quality is superb. The rise and taper are personal preferences, of course, but I’m happy with both on these. The rise is fairly high, but not ridiculously so, and I find it very comfortable. I don’t notice the taper, although I did have the last few inches lopped off (since I’m a shorty), which has presumably given mine a wider leg opening than standard.1 point

I have 3 pairs of chinos. Khaki from Orslow- I feel them too much modified to present cut of trousers. Beige from RMC- my favourite. Not slim, not bagy. And Olive from Buzz Rickson- very nice, I think more close to original fit with a lot of room all around the body, just in waist tight.... but I love them all...1 point
