This afternoon we hopped on ol 66 and headed east to visit my grandparents in Vinita,OK. Along the way we stopped at a favorite roadside attraction : the Blue Whale in Catoosa. It is where my wife and I had one of our first dates.

Apparently a husband built it as a gift to his wife in the late 60s. It served as a

swimmin hole up until the 80's.

Then we continued on to one of my favorite antique haunts in all the world

saw this old Levis ad on a rodeo magazine , too rich for my blood.

Picked up some blotters though that were a little more reasonable:

Tried to have dinner at Clanton's Cafe on 66 no dice.

Anyhow, was a pretty good day. Can't wait for tommorow, with any luck its full of meat and blowin shit up.

I wondered why they needed guard towers but I was informed it was for a show called prison break...they did their show here

again..those flowers everywhere!

after going in a tunnel this is one of the lower levels

made our way to the top..the ceiling is falling apart(the next room over there was a full size tree growing from the floor!

Xpost from RxC - my Canada Day long weekend roundup. We had friends visiting for the weekend, and after a day of cycling, we had an early dinner out. Quite a variety - club sandwiches, butter chicken, and my favourite - steak!

Dinner was early so that we could digest & have a few beers before the evening fireworks.

What with all our guests, we skipped going to the big productions this year, and stayed local. It was still pretty fun. A sampling of what we saw for an hour or so….

The detritus of the day….

We had great weather all weekend, except for an overnight thunderstorm, which cooled things off nicely!

So it was pretty much lounging around and having waterfights! The kids all had a great time - amazing, forget the fancy toys - give them water & a container, and they'll figure something out!

Not quite sure what they were doing here, but it made for some whacky shots!

We headed over to Centre Island late afternoon - with the pups of course! They really enjoyed the ferry ride and all the attention!

Always a bustling scene at Queen's Quay - street musicians, vendors, crowds of people….

Entrance to the ferry docks. Yes, that is a guy with a deer head on his back… They were going to shoot a film - it sounded pretty wild!

Great ride over.

There used to be many private residences on the island, along with a small community infrastructure. The properties were under a 99 year lease from the government, and most of them are now gone.

IThe island is well maintained, with a little amusement park, quiet coves for kayak schools, and the annual dragonboat races are held here.

There's also a little petting farm, with rabbits, sheep, pigs, chickens. and….. Peacocks???

We headed south, to the beaches, to chill out, & explore. Perfect for the kids!

By the pier, caught the ambient light from a glorious sunset

Then went back to the ferry landing, and got my postcard shot for the day…

on saturday i`ve enjoyed the view while having a few beers

on sunday it was time to do some more active

a workmate invited me to go rafting with a rubber raft, so i drove to bern first

searching for max_power

arrived in bern

...and then the phone died >

but i try and see if i can tell you the end of the story.

so first we took the train from bern to thun (25min.), a nice little city right beside the alps.

My jeans got in a little 4th of July skiing today up at Snowbird, Utah. I'd normally wear snow pants, but it was a little too hot for that, even at 11,000' . Overcast skies kept the snow from being too slushy or sticky, so it was a great end to a long season of skiing.

i was invited by my photographer friend to visit his new studio that was partly renovated on sunday. he showed me around and it was such mess here and there. once he asked me whether i wanted to help him with his portfolio and i said yes, so i brought my wardrobe for him to shoot. Technically he's a good photographer but he a bit lacks of creativity. it was up to me now, i had to direct him with my very minimal knowledge of fashion photography.

first thing first was the test shot of what i am wearing today

then it came to more difficult part where i should change and style on my own.

well, the result was not that bad huh? i was pretty happy since he captured the essence of Rick Owens and my weekend jeans which are 666sod

It's good to see that piece has been mostly cleaned off. A couple weeks ago it and the others around it were defaced by someone who had splashed blue house paint all over them. It was horrible to see and made me sad for my species.

It's a hot Independence Day (NB: a black shirt and jeans aren't a good outfit when it's 95°F [35°C] outside). We're celebrating the best way we know how: fireworks! We also picked raspberries, but the only photo evidence I have of that is my red-stained fingers.
