so today, I visited the annual fair in the place where I used to live (Leuven)

one of the oldest and biggest university's of Belgium is in Leuven and during the academic year, almost half of the residents in Leuven actually are students...

i locked the door and off we went...

first we got something to eat

beignets (smoutebollen) and french fries (Frieten), Belgian classics

this thing confused me, i think the balls that were swinging from side to side had to knock the kids out of their seat... not sure tho...

there also was a local bikerace, radioshack etc. competed, didn't pay much attention to it, I visited the tour the france during my holiday in Flaine this summer already...

as we left the fair, we were hungry again

so we went for sushi and... I had my first beer of the day!

well that was my weekend, hope u guys had as much fun as I did...

I'll paint the star tomorrow, then maybe give the jeans a wash on tuesday or wednesday, as I have been going to work in them.

I live in Wilrijk actually, very close to the centre of Wilrijk and to the A12 but still in a little street that's nice and quiet

I'm hoping to drop by Okiya next saturday with Dave023, hoping to feel and try on the MF californian jeans, maybe some omnigod or even the MF mechanics shirts, dunno if he has these tho...

sorry for the lack of updates since the weekend guys, but as I said, my life really ain't all that exciting, specially when I'm working the evening shift...

also, I'm feeling quite sick and I got suprised by a bit of a rainstorm this evening after work, jeans are drying now...

^ sadly...most of our lives are pretty boring! except mine! just go with it and have fun. the most mundane things to you, are really exciting and interesting to us since it is different culture and whatnot. heck, the inside of your refrigerator might be cool to someone. loving the updates so far, that sushi is makin me HUNGRY!

so now you guys know what a Renault warehouse looks like, we ship alot of crap (car parts mostly, though sometimes also merchandising etc.) to all Renault dealerships in the Benelux everyday.

well time for a decent update again, today we went to Leuven again as we had to drop off the keys to our old appartment at the owners office...

while we were there, we went to a street that's full of restaurants and had some pizza and... beer

oh yeah there was pizza too

afterwards while walking around, we passed by the chocolat bar, they mostly have chocolate milk, milkshakes, brownies and yeah other stuff with chocolate in it...

I ordered a chocolate shot, this is pure dark chocolate milk mixed with espresso and my girlfriend ordered a milk chocolate/mocca milkshake...

afterwards, we stopped by my parents place, while I was there, had to take some time to install some new shit on my bike, hope matchmakers to hold my shifters and brake levers with just one clamp...

so like I said, fridays update, nothing much really...

came home from work, gf was off to play volleybal, so I just played the couch potato game and ordered some junk-food.

I am curious what made this fade...

sunday we visited my inlaws and I was in luck, it was bierfestival (yeah beerfestival) in Bruges...

so, I had to go there, it was faith I reckon

we parked the car outside of the centre, so we had to enter the city by one of the gates, this one is called the 'donkey gate'

as it was also a day on wich many monuments are open to the public, people were visiting the 'donkey gate' I didn't have time to wait however, the beer festival was calling...

on our way to the centre, we passed a little market and a guy was showcasing his euh, statues, I guess...

so then, what is a beer festival? well basically, a lot of people, drinking beer, 228 different sorts of belgian beer to be exact, at a more then reasonable price and all on tap

the tower is part of the 'Belfort', I have no idea what that is in English, it's a medieval building, with a central square, packed with people drinking beer

let's take a look inside

as u can see, people that sell beer are true professionals, they are passionate and they love to demonstrate what beer does to you...

but they can also be serious, thank god, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten my beer I think.

the inside of the building halls was just filled with little booths that were selling their beers and gimmicks

hell yeah!

trying real hard to look serious and convince my girl that I didn't drink enough yet... (failed!)

when you managed to get a beer you liked, outside was the place to be cause inside it was waaaaaaaay to hot

back inside, there was this booth with beers that had real cool names like 'mother in law', 'soft brunette' and 'mother superior'

I also liked this beer, never heard of it before, so I had to try it.

'Kwibus' is a word meaning something like dork, it's not a real dutch word though...

so I managed to buy a cap from the Delirium Tremens booth (the stuffed elephant caps were sold out )and the last 8 bottles of Malheur 12° and then it was time to go home...

actually it was well past 'time to go home'

I wasn't going to give up those 8 bottles for anything, that's for sure

this is the water (de reitjes) running trough Bruges, the reason why they call the city little Venice
