I started listening to the CoffeeGeek podcast about a year or so ago. I heard about Intelligentsia on there. I never ordered anything to have shipped here because I didn't have a good grinder so I didn't really see the point.

My family went to Illinois for Thanksgiving last year and we went to Chicago so I ended up going there. It was some great stuff.

As soon as that grinder gets here I'm planning on ordering some coffee from them.

Dozens of unique brewing gadgets (Chemex, Siphon, etc) and thousands of bean varietals......glad people are branching beyond fucking Starbucks.

In addition to Intelligentsia, there is a place in LA called Lamill that is an insane homage to coffee. In addition to a bevy of crazy contraptions, they make some neat coffee dessert drinks. Coffee & cigarettes (espresso with a tobacco-infused foam), and my favorite: Coffee & Doughnuts. They take raspberry puree, put espresso on top and cover it with a doughnut-infused milk foam.

i'm an intelli fan...i used to order it directly from them (USED to). i would get it the day after it was roasted. then they switched from using UPS to USPS and it now takes 2 weeks (or more) to canada.

we've got a cafe here that uses it - they get shipments once/week, so i've been getting it there. it was nice while it lasted having it arrive at my door fresh. mmmmm.
