To all the people from Singapore, is it really easy to find decent and casual European/international cooking? You guys make it seem as if there are good joints all over the place but from my experiences in other asian countries this rarely the case. Even in very international cities it is hard to get authentic foreign cooking unless you're at a pretty ritzy place.

kway chup is a popular local dish usually served with various sections of pig intestines, and/or other innards, along with hard boiled eggs and tofu. the staple is a broad and flat form of noodle called kway; while chup means "sauce".

singaporeans are so healthy because we're always eating animal intestines and genitals.

in singapore food is relatively cheap, and really cheap food is readily available. you can find representatives of every kind of cuisine here. it seems that a new restaurant is opening here every day.

anyway, went japanese today (well, mostly) :

miso-tonkotsu with menma

tokusen miso

i know both look the same but the latter is a special miso blend. and both ramen had bamboo shoots in it..

chewing the fats with:

ice cafe latte

blue mountain

espresso machiato

can't be too extravagant with dinner so jap takeaway:

Lived up to my promise and took plongin and the Mistress to the aforementioned secret pizza place.

Pizza Rustica with mushrooms and italian sausage and Pizza Sole Mio again with parma ham and rucola.

Then dessert...

Sugary sweet cinnamon toast.

Dinner was more low-key (read: food court).

Duck rice with lotsa chilli. The meat is succulent and tender.
