Heh, exactly the same fly distress as on my battered 80s redlines. Mine are getting a grey overdye though... can't stand the pale blue 'dad jeans' look. Yours have gone right out the other side into mega fade which is purdy.

thanks B, yeah i've got several pairs of the chinos now...seriously love these things. really thick and stiff with a nice cut and a rad sort of sheen to them...basically like heavyweight raw (or maybe 1-rinse) cotton twill which is tough to find on most modern chinos...
