What are you wearing today? (pics only)

Your comments aren't about fashion, they're about a stereotype. That all men who wear baggy clothes are trying to act "hard." And if you knew what the fuck you were talking about you would realize that milspex's fit and the whole "white tee" thing are different.

It goes the other way. I think the whole "denim craze," where people like you shell out hundreds of dollars for cloth, is ridiculous. Then you try to justify the cost by saying "its quality denim"

I think tight clothes and tight jeans look ridiculous. I don't care what the fuck Hedi Slimane says. Its personal.

Half of these "real" men are fucking transparent little shits anyway that think dropping $500 for boxer briefs is "cool."

no, you are right about that, but wrong to assume i am that stereotype.

again, i'm not blindly stereotyping milspex. he's got posts and pictures everywhere in this thread that continue to support a stereotype. i'm also aware i'll get a lot heat for going against a "forum hero."

on the other hand, what is YOUR BASIS for presuming that i shell out hundreds of dollars for clothes and is denim crazy and only wear skin tight clothing and jeans. in fact, i don't even have any skin tight clothes lol. i am one of those guys that don't see the need to look at what other fashion designers are doing and what the next trend is. i'm confident enough in my own taste to know if something looks good. that is solely what i base my fashion decisions on. i don't think it's bad to follow designers and know what the trends are, but i'm just wary that those things can also make you BIASED. it's this bias that is the main reason why i don't care (but i don't hate) to follow fashion news.

also, i find it rather hypocritical and a double standard that one would defend a style while criticizing another. that's what's annoying me - that all this defending isn't really about trying to be "open-minded," but rather about just defending somebody that everybody has for so long "idolized." also, for the record, there's a difference between open-mindedness and stupidity. be open-minded to things that could be good. be closed-minded to things that are obviously a joke.

deeming anything "obviously" a joke speaks only towards making surface evaluations of that thing. nothing is ever obvious; everything has depth, a story, a life behind the facade.

your evaluation of baggy clothes and the people that wear them is really, really simple-minded and just a little bit indicative of a classist rhetoric. do you dare fault the poor who wear whatever they can pick up at the local discount store or Salvation Army? yeah, its a size too big- its also clothes. and people need clothes.

there's a big difference between open-mindedness and stupidity, sure. you just proved yourself, consistently, to be a complete idiot. being open-minded is, apparently, so far out of your league that you seem to think that open-mindedness comes with parameters, like "be open-minded to things that could be good". if you don't give them a fair fucking shot, your mind's closed off the bat.

people like you don't deserve oxygen, in my estimation. you know why? because there wouldn't be a breath emanating from your mouth if you had the chance to face up to the same baggy-clothes wearing stereotype that you keep wanting to dismiss.

No, really, thanks again. I got my hookup network scouting H&M worldwide to get me some of that real shit and Nudie? Forget about it!, I got heads IN SWEDEN hooking me up as we speak. I really want to say again, thanks for pointing out how wrong I was, NO REALLY.

Yeah, and fuck `YOSHI`! What does some stupid jap know about fashion?? I used to be interested in how him and Rei Kawakubo influenced modern style but not anymore, you totally schooled me again! Thanks! NO REALLY!

I also know you`re takin it hard that I dress different to you, yet Im getting some complements on this board.

Hey, why dont you post up some of your shit and get your own fans, if thats what you want. Your shit must be really motherfucken special the way you talk about knowing what looks good. Lets see it!

And anyone who wears Nudie? No hate, its just that me wearing Nudie or any tightass euro jeans is about as likely as Hap rockin XL Taps BDU pants hangin off his ass. Dont get me wrong I think Hap looks the shit but I wouldnt rock anything he wears personally.

Milspex, for the record, your style is horrible.

1. Oversized clothing hardly ever looks good. Oversized camo pants look cool sometimes. Oversized everything do not.

2. Just because hip hop gangsta stars wear oversized clothing doesn't mean it looks good. Have ever taken a good honest look at yourself? It looks horrible.

3. Oversized clothing is for guys who are overcompensating for something. 99% of all guys I've ever met who dress like that are also hip hop gangsta wannabes and they try to act all tough and hard. This intimidates the less confident men, but REAL men who are comfortable in their own skin see through you kind of guys' personas. That's why we don't feel the need to try to pretend to be bigger or something we're not. That's also why tighter fitted clothing is fashionable - psychologically and on a biological level, it conveys confidence. Oversized clothing is trying to make yourself look bigger. And look at the way 99% of these kinds of oversized clothing guys act...they put on this fake macho demeanor. If I were to ever meet you, would you still be as tough, or are only tough on the internet?

Just posting this to set it straight about ridiculous oversized clothing vs. regular clothing vs. confident clothing.

this discussion is so stupid. just give it up AFK, its so obvious that you are the one wrong here. why do you care what mil is wearing??? are u gonna go around to all message boards or even up to strangers that you happen to see get a compliment and tell them they ain't shit either? stop trying to be fashion police. mil likes what he wears and has a consistent style which is better than many others out there that think they're "fashionable"

yes, i am new to supertalk. i was told that supertalk is a place to get good advice about high end jeans and specifical raw denim. didn't think that somebody with such antithetical style would a celebrity here. or is this place full of try-hard hip hop gangsta wannabe guys and i just haven't caught on yet?

i hope this doesn't degenerate into a "haha lol he's a noob so he's gotta be wrong...his credibility is solely dependent on his postcount!"

you guys seem to be having difficult understanding my very simple message. i'll say it again:

dressing like a hip hop gangsta wannabe is not cool.

end of story. you guys can argue all you want about whatever you think i'm saying (or what you wish i'm saying), but you're wasting your time. keep it real and keep it simple and don't make it more complicated than it is.

read the second line of this post again if you're still confused.

also, that is your belief that you need to be aware of the fashion industry, but you're still not telling me why. i'm not talking here about what yoshi is doing or if milspex is comparable to xyz designer. i don't need to be taught to know what looks good, although certainly some people do. and this isn't about my style so why are you guys trying to change the subject? so i'm making some criticisms of baggy gangsta clothing...it's up to guys to agree or disagree. if you disagree, then that's cool. no need to try to gather everyone to jump on me. shit, aren't we grown men who can take criticism?

p.s. baggy done right is some of the models on www.drjays.com . that's hip hop clothing done respectably.

as for milspex:

Quote: Yeah, and fuck `YOSHI`! What does some stupid jap know about fashion?? I used to be interested in how him and Rei Kawakubo influenced modern style but not anymore, you totally schooled me again! Thanks! NO REALLY!

i'm not saying you're a typical gangsta mongoloid...i'm just saying you're a mongoloid in general. you're still haven't even defended or explained yourself lol...all you're doing is pretending to be sarcastic. nice job.

Quote: also know you`re takin it hard that I dress different to you, yet Im getting some complements on this board.

this perfectly shows the kind of validation junkie you are lol. good job. yeah, i really care what a bunch of anonymous internet users care about my fashion sense. mighty presumptuous of you, ain't yah? yep, you are so right i'm taking it hard...damn it, i'm not getting approval from the internet lmao!. man, you guys use the same lines over and over lol.

Quote: Hey, why dont you post up some of your shit and get your own fans, if thats what you want. Your shit must be really motherfucken special the way you talk about knowing what looks good. Lets see it!

i already did foo. and it got removed by the mods because i must have said something in the post that broke a rule. and why the hell should i care about winning the approval of this thread? dude, you're a pretty needy guy dude. what happened to you confident self? also, that is the most illogical thing i've heard - me claiming to know looks like shit must also mean i think i dress hella awesome? pretty absurd man.

Quote: And anyone who wears Nudie? No hate, its just that me wearing Nudie or any tightass euro jeans is about as likely as Hap rockin XL Taps BDU pants hangin off his ass. Dont get me wrong I think Hap looks the shit but I wouldnt rock anything he wears personally.

too late to take back what you said. anyone with decent character judgment could have easily smelled your delusional arrogance within your first few posts in this thread. hey, i'm arrogant too, but not nowhere as delusional as you lol!

feel free to respond back. your type is very predictable and all the same.

so yeah, that's all i want to say. i'm not claiming to be a fashion guru (something i already said before but it was one of the posts that got deleted). just saying that gangsta baggy is way uncool. if you disagree with me, that's cool. just don't confuse or dilute my point with other messages i never said.

as for my hair, and wristwear, its a typical asian-boy haircut; nothing spectacular. and the bracelet was purchased from some street market in thailand for $2.

and pictures of my shoes, as requested:

AFK: maybe the root of the flaw in your argument is that you associate all dudes wearing baggy clothes as Hip-Hop-Wanna-Be-Gangster. Whereas Mil's look is much more Skateboarding-Garbage-Man-From-The-Future.

To say that all people who wear baggy clothes look the same or are going for the same wanna be gangster look is like saying all asians look the same, for all electronic music sounds like techno. It just shows that you aren't well enough versed to appreciate the differences.

you know, even if this was true, it makes it more sad that even somebody with shitty fashion sense can see that that ugly baggy gangsta shit looks like shit lol.

The brand is aNYthing. They have a store on Hester St. on the Lower East Side in NYC. Do a search and youll find more info. There was an entire thread on the brand, I believe.
