^the NOS cone denim is very very nice, but to be honest I'd actually prefer the zimbabwe cotton on the 50's cut were I to have a choice. something about that fluffy cloudiness and the soft hand of that zimbabwe...Trust, I've been eyeing every pair they post up on their blog too hahaha

Looking at getting a pair of Neutral Jeans. I have a hard time getting the sizing right though. I do use google translate but I´m not sure.

Does anybody know if this pair is sanforized or unsanforized? http://www.neutral-ltd.jp/collection/njmodel/NJ201-A.html

I do like the arcuates and the fit seems to be a little tapered. Kinda stoked to try a "unknown" japanese brand.

Would be very much appreciated if anyone can shime in on this.

Thanks in advance!

Not really unknown anymore, at least to those familiar with the upcoming contest, but given there's no regular Devi's thread i'll just post my pictures here.

and a comparison with the darkest denim i own and the MF cali's which are closer, but still a lot different in color.

The denim was pretty light, red cast, in color pre-soak, but has actually darkened after the soak and wash, it's really lovely.

b_F, most of your questions already answered i think, i was busy posting the pics ^_^

I'm going to get these in rotation untill the D00XX contest starts, then i'm going to concentrate on those, and these will remain in a light rotation i think.

So on to the measurements, i never do the waist BiG style because i think it's not the most accurate.

I measure all the way round, on the inside of the jeans, buttoned up.

I also measured the waist Taichi's way, so i'll include that as well.

Waist 89 => 86,5 cm

Waist Taichi's way 90,5 => 88

thigh 32 => 31

knee 25 => 24

hem 23 => 21,5

inseam 93,5 => 85,5

rise 29 => 26,5

I had them hemmed by about an inch by Taichi btw, he's very easy to work with, you can just give hem the inseam you desire post-soak and he'll do the math.

No sweat patch.

groove, i thought so too, fit wise they appear pretty similar too, although i believe they taper a bit more than the 1100, correct me if i'm wrong.

SLAB, that was the first thing i thought when i saw these.

Can't compare side by side sadly, but the denim does look a lot like the Kyoto denim.

Taichi has sought a denim which should come very close to the original denim Levi's used in the late sixties.

I've always regretted not picking up the Kyoto's and Tokyo's when they were around.

Do you still have your's btw?

Great pics, beautiful jeans and very good fit.

Also like the combo with the RRL Engineers and the MF (?) jacket.

Hmm, I might want to get such a pair after all.

So, this is not the pair of the contest then? (sorry a bit confused)

66s fit even slimmer than the 47s, don't they?

Good eye ie, the jacket is indeed a MF biribi in tan linnen.

No the D66 are not the contest jeans, for the contest a special version of the D00XX '46 model will be made.

The D66 is actually based on a '69 501, but if it's slimmer than a '47 cut i'm not sure.

It has a lower rise, is quite slim in the legs with a slight taper.

The '47 cut is higher rise, but might even be a tad slimmer in the legs, and i think has a stronger taper, a really nice cut too.

But the '46 cut which the contest jeans will be based on is fuller than a '47, more along the lines of a '44 cut i believe but with different (post war) detailling.

Hope i don't sound too confusing...
