any chance for a fit pic? Always wondered how tapered the 714 looks

There's a fit pic of mine on the previous page. Taper is quite noticeable even when hemmed short (mine are right around 28")

These more-tapered cuts seem to appear quite different depending on which size you wear. Soks's pair looks quite a bit more tapered than mine does, mine look more like a classic slim cut with a bit of extra taper.

^Interesting. What size do you wear? Mine are a 30, but you appear to be a lot taller than me, which could explain the cut sitting differently.

Huh, guess I'm just wrong then. I wear a size 30 in these, but there's been no hemming. That cuff pulls them up to about a 31-32" inseam.

 

It is weird that they seem much more tapered on you. No idea how to explain the difference if it isn't a shift in sizing.

Probably just the length of your legs compared to mine drawing the taper out over a longer area

My Stevenson 727 jeans.  3 years and 2 months of wear, 22 washes, 5 repairs (at SESF, SELA, SEPDX, and self-repaired twice while in Mexico).   I love these jeans, everything from the super functional curved rear pockets to the way every stitch and fold ages is pure perfection.

I've had it stitched back down onto the denim 3 times!  

And actually the last couple of times part of the paper has torn off so it's now just being stitched down at the new edges of the patch.

You can see the patch in person when we hopefully get coffee in Austin next week.

It's subtle but the indigo t-shirt fabric is one of the softest fabrics i've ever felt for a t-shirt. The white t-shirt fabric has changed a bit too. They're both a little thicker than previous versions. I got more crocking from the t-shirt than other indigo t-shirts so i'm expecting these to age a little quicker.

Also the Deputy jacket in ocher would be an insta-cop if SE is getting that one.

If it's too small that's just motivation to lose some weight.

Just found an almost new pair of the La Jolla's in the back of the closet.    Result! 

I really like these jeans. A slim silhouette, but with room in the top block. 

Very nice touch with the leather back fly buttons.

Officially retired my old 727s finally. I'm eager to get my current 727s (one size up and longer length) to this state.

recently picked up the 737 which is a straight leg with a bit of taper. Perfect for what I am looking for.

That's what I'm looking for as well, I've found the taper on the 714's is just a bit too strong for me.

check out the measurements. There is also the 747 which is more of a true straight leg and has exposed rivets on the back pocket which look pretty cool

Can anybody suggest a apir of soc . Highest rise they have with bar tack on back pockets and no cinch. What model might that be?

Dude, these are awesome. The Stevenson denim shrink over time has been pretty nuts, in my experience. I had the same problem with my 727 (needing bigger size and longer length). I've been on 714 for almost a year, now. I say it all the time, Stevenson is the only denim I've bought twice. Pictures never do it justice.

oh shit, you mean the waist/length take multiple washes to get down to the final size? Maybe I shouldn't have gotten them hemmed after just one wash!

1. There are various party release. Theoretically the jeans can behave differently.

2. Do not wash in hot water and do not dry near heat sources.

Even if the jeans are washed, it is desirable to protect themselves more in length, 1-2 cm.

Although,I think you know about it.

I think you're fine, my pair of stevensons didnt shrink really after the first hot wash.

Also, fit pics??? I've been interested in the 737 for a super long time. It seems like a great cut.
