Funny thing for me is that I’m not the biggest fan of pizza lol  I never go out of my way for it or crave it; I’d rather have a pasta dish. But if I ever find myself in a situation where I have to have it, I find that  I do enjoy a good margherita. A supreme can be good, and I do enjoy a hot honey drizzle at times!

This is one of my absolute favorites to make. I caramelize the walnuts but in hot honey. Game changer!

My preferred pizza toppings are very location dependent in New York. Best Pizza has an amazing seasonal vegetable that isn't conventional in the slightest (often some potato and artichoke). Old Lombardi's did it just right with garlic sautéed spinach. Rubi Rosa's tie-die pie is pretty perfect. Lucia nails a cream of spinach variation. So many good options. When I make pizza, it's usually sauce, mozzarella, basil, red onion and black olives.

If we end up getting these jeans in-hand for a mid-December start date, I will be blown away by the efficiency of execution.

That’s what I’m after, clean cut all the way down, looks great! I’ve been second guessing my size and hem choices a little bit but if I’ve nailed this fit then I am good to go.

I was wondering if he would mind indulging us all in some suitably nerdy detail shots of each of the cuts being worn in the contest? I don’t imagine he has a tonne of spare time right now but I’m sure we would all be very grateful!

I checked in with Simone earlier today... the plan remains to have the jeans to us in December... but, yeah, as we know (and I'm paraphrasing a touch here), no plan survives first contact with reality (Marshal Helmuth von Moltke the Elder said 'enemy' but it's clearly not appropriate here!).  Single-man dependency risks certainly apply here!

There's a load of pics on his Instagram and his website Alec - worth a gander if you haven't looked already - is anything missing?  We're behind other work in Simone's queue so any new asks could cause timeline delays.  We could see what he has easily to hand that's missing... but there are 5 different models in the contest we'd need to factor and we need to be careful to avoid delays matey.... also not sure what he keeps in stock, probably not much.  Let's see where we land.  Agreeing that them 5150s look very nice indeed!!

Yeah no worries at all I suspected all that was the case. I was just thinking it would keep our appetites whetted seeing maybe a new and used of each cut, but totally understand all the above.

…and I would certainly not want to tempt a delay!!

The buttons arrived and Simone said, he will start working on the jeans from next Monday on. Stay tuned!

This is exciting! The likelihood of a mid-December start crossed my mind again earlier this week actually (probably while I was contemplating buying some new jeans - which I did, in the end, never mind).

Is this still anticipated? Or is it more end of Dec / early Jan now? I am 100% okay with either and ready to go when he is!

25 pairs at ~2.5 hours a pair, plus cutting, equals ~2 week production...

@reallypeacedoff where do you arrive at each pair taking 2.5 hrs? 

Idc when we get them, fwiw (within reason). It will be a nice thing when it happens, of course. Every day longer these take is another day to wear my Ooe's, which I really want to leave in a lighter state than they're in!

Simone recently stated it roughly takes 2.5 hours to sew a pair (cutting not included).

Right now we don't know if mid December will really work but fingers are crossed.
