My jeans hold me up straight when my legs are tired.

Also very good for barbed wire, mean dogs, and raspberry thorns

Today's heavyweight denim is tomorrow's pitiful lightweight object of derision. Keep your money in your pocket until the 50 oz stuff comes out!

In the meantime, you may want to consider this:

well.. technically the Sammy 24oz is a 27oz denim after shrinking.. so we have something over 25oz already..

I wonder if the 30oz is pre or post soak

Wasn't there a 32 oz Fearless one a while back? Or that 28 oz-30 oz Eight-G?

I cannot discern any obvious advantages for going above 21 oz...I mean, for safety or warmth wear, you'd want more than cotton.

A bit of the novelty factor I guess?

My Samurai S510 24oz Sz. 31 (27-oz post wash/dry)

are not itchy, scratchy or uncomfortable.

To the contrary, they feel robust, stiff, tough as chains on my body,

all the while breathable and very comfortable. I highly recommend them.

I've worn normal weight jeans, I've worn heavy jeans, I prefer heavier jeans as I like substantial clothing. Just personal taste really.

I totally respect where you're coming from Mega.

I used to feel as you did, until I tried Sugar Cane OKIs...

weirdly, I think they're tougher and more durable than 21-ozers.

Not all 14-15-oz are Sugar Cane OKI level tough, sure,

but let's say that Sugar Cane OKI was my lighter-weight denim

gateway drug, and I've grown to enjoy the lighter-weights since.

Don't get me wrong...I'm still a heavy-weight denim junkie too. :)

I've just grown to appreciate both.

I like heavyweight denim for it's novelty factor, but I have to agree it is amazing for berry picking. Plus it's so warm and cozy and mosquito proof too. If you don't have a pair of heavy weight denim, just put on two pairs of jeans(one smaller size) and the bigger pair on top, that works great too

34oz here. 21oz of denim and then 13oz of flannel lining. Been wearing them every single day. I wear them because I am a motorcycle courier and they're comfortable, warm, and I've already had two spills in them and they took it in stride.

Ironheart denim is very soft and smooth. No slubbiness or roughness at all. I was sold on them as soon as I tried on the 301s. Lots of random talk in here that isn't backed up by any proof at all.

heavy weight denim for the novelty factor? I wish I had $300+ to toss around on novelties...
