Hi Ryu!

Can you tell us a little about the different Japanese brands, like what you think of them and what others think of them- which brand is the most popular, which one is the highest quality etc?

What do you think abotu Skull Jeans? They don't seem to fade as well as other brands, is that true?

wmmm that's very difficult....

depending the way of one's preference,

if you like geniuine replica of vintage, you should choose warehouse, denime and sugarcane

etc.....

please teach me what brand do you wannna know?

among the replica japanese brand , i think sugarcane and denime are more popular.

the reason is the price, so reasonable.

you know cane's 1947and1945,denime's 66model are very cheap!!

most of the people wearing jeans choose uniqlo and levi's i think.

Skull jeans is famous for that nice silhouette.

fabric is also good but is't the best....

oops vanish.... my writing!

it's very difficult question.

the point what you really feel important is the point.

if you wanna get the replica of the vintage, i recommend you to get the warehouse's ones.

they create jeans very carefull and imitate in detail. but so expensive!

among the replica brand , we denimania recommend the person who just starts to wear

tha kind of jeans the cane's 1947 or denime's 66 model.

the reason is that's price, so reasonable! having nice fading

Skull jeans is famous for the sillhoutte but fading.

fabric is also good but isn't the best...

DDML: none, I've been neglecting them in favor of my D'artisans icon_smile_blush.gif

Ryu: I agree, the vertical fading is incredible. In fact, it probably has the nicest denim I've ever seen... I definitely prefer the quality of denim to the D'artisans, but I like the lower rise on the D'artisans more...

that coin case is badass. was looking at coin cases on yoox or bluefly, but the ones i like are $170. nah!

ryu, i am interested to know how you shrunk the canes when you first got them. soak or a machine wash?

EDIT: picked up a nice tray-style coin purse in my neighborhood for $10, nice leather, too..

hi

sorry i can't

that coin case is badass. was looking at coin cases on yoox or bluefly

my way to shurunk denim is....

2000dB translate my word, thanks!!!

For the initial soak, he says 2 hours in a bucket with water at 40 degrees and a weigh on top. Then a regular machine wash. He then puts his jeans 40 minutes in the dryer.

this is my way.

washing starch away, soaking 2 hours and washing without detergent.

to shrunk my denim to the maximum, after that what i wrote i put my jeans 40 minutes in the dryer.

Ahh, i see we have some convergent thinking going on. I did exactly that when i first got my canes, not on purpose.. I just was so confused with all the different opinions on the board... Cold soak 1 hour, Hot Soak for 1 hour, warm wash with no detergent, dryer until they weren't dripping wet and then wear them to set in the creases as they dry. It's been two months and they're looking pretty good, might wash them... dog got mud all over them + oyster juice + tabasco from drunken cinco de mayo madness

Ryu, the wrinkles in your jeans seem very pronounce right after you soaked them initially. Did you wear your jeans wet and let them dry on you. That is the process I use for all of my jeans.

The vertical fading on the Eternal 811 is really good, at least on the pair I own.

I get comments on that from people that usually don't care about denim, it's nice.

minya. you know the D-1002 ?

this is left-twilled jeans, so it would be good fading

but it's boot-cut one....

left-twilled tend to fade vertically and like a line !

it's amazing!!

and the flat head jeans is also like a eternal's.

in my opinion. the flat head one is easy to be contrast

Ryu, yeah, I've seen pictures of the D-1002. I think they are all sold out right now, however. I've never owned any left-hand-twill jeans; I should probably pick up a pair at one point.

I'm wearing my Eternals now icon_smile_wink.gif

ryu... have you ever worn vintage levis? from before the 1980s? they may not be the best jeans, but here you can find the orange tab levis for very cheap. there are many in thrift stores for less than 10$. no selvage usually, but very nice ringxring denim that fades beautifuly. if you are lucky you can find a dark pair that have not been washed too much, and sometimes you will find them with amazing fading.

If you've lost your faith in superfuture, Oh the end won't be long

Because if it's gone for you then I too may lose it, And that would be wrong

I've tried so hard to keep myself from falling

Back into my bad old ways

And it chars my heart to always hear you calling

Calling for the good old days

Because there were no good old days

These are the good old days

do you have anything you would trade? i have a pair of 70s orange tab 505, talon zipper, no selvage, that i would be very happy to send to you. im wearing them here with a vintage selvage lefthand twill jacket, which im also thinking about getting rid of

139802.jpg

not very high contrast fade, but beautiful none the less.
