ACHTUNG!

The german "Engineer Crew" did set up a Tour.

We´re trying to show you all parts of germany and the jeans are supposed to travel all 16 Bundesländer (states).

The Jeans are going to be a pair of germany´s finest Pike Brothers Engineer Style Jeans W33 L34:

"Typical 1950s work wear denim. Our Engineer Pant has been made from 13 Ounce raw denim with selvage edge. Again, we went one step further to bring you a denim which is unique in structure and feeling. For our 1955 Engineer Pant we used ring spun and naturally indigo dyed yarn. Woven on vintage shuttle looms from the late 50s the denim is very rich in structure and feeling. The naturally indigo dyed yarn guarantees for an excellent color and beautiful fading.

Our finest Pike Brothers Accessories and Details make our 1955 Engineer Pant outstanding:

- 13 ounce raw denim with selvage edge in dark indigo blue

- 100% Cotton

- straight leg, regular fit with button fly

- heavy cotton thread in honey yellow color

- buttons and rivets made in zinc optic

- heavy bar tacking on pockets, belt loops and seam ends"

Some Details:

dsci0249k.jpg

Unfortunately no chainstitch on the hem...

dsci0250.jpg

Redlined selvage...

dsci0251.jpg

Nice but flat structured denim...

dsci0255f.jpg

Beautiful zinc-like buttons...

dsci0252t.jpg

...and rivets.

dsci0258s.jpg

Fat leather patch...

dsci0259s.jpg

...and of course the selvage coin pocket.

The structure of the denim is very clean and flat, this may change after a soak and/or some wear. The finish is perfect, all threads look strong and I suppose they're made of cotton. Buttons and rivets are very beautiful. I'm only a bit disappointed about the regular hemstitch and I also miss backpocket (hidden) rivets on this 50's inspired cut. The cut remind me a bit of a 1954 501.

The whole jean looks pretty nice and strong and I'm sure they'll fade great. Stay tuned.

Yeah, here we go!

The Pike Brothers Bundesländer Tour starts like any ordinary sunday for me:

  • Outa bed at 6 o' clock :icon_twisted:;
  • Pampering and feeding my lil' daughter;
  • Having a fast coffee and driving to the bakery.

dsci0247l.jpg

Breakfast for the Ladies and me.

dsci0250u.jpg

Yeees...

dsci0251c.jpg

Sill wearing my SDA 203's this morning.

The snowman needs a wash bad:

dsci0246j.jpg

And finally the great moment :-D !

This day is the day of the german reunion. We've planned to spend it with my parents in law, they live in a small village near Göttingen (still Hessen).

dsci0265t.jpg

Nice garden...

dsci0264v.jpg

Barbecuing...

dsci0267.jpg

...and there are still some typical products from the old german democratic republic available (but tasty!).

dsci0268q.jpg

Do you see the little hand on the left ;-) ?

It was real great weather yesterday, moar like summer. Much fun for us:

dsci0273.jpg

dsci0279.jpg

...and fun for you guys ;-)

dsci0280.jpg

dsci0283j.jpg

Posing with the unsoaked Engineers. They're dam stiff and pretty uncomfy and bleed like hell!

dsci0284.jpg

For the Nudieheads...

After that we had a little walk thru the 'street of songs' ("Straße der Lieder"). This street leads thru the nearby forest, every now and then you can sing an old german folksong:

Part 3

dsci0291e.jpg

Fat cornfield...

dsci0295.jpg

...makes the missus hungry again.

dsci0314b.jpg

Do NOT eat!

dsci0315i.jpg

After the Ooe World Tour EVERY tour needs goat pics :-)

dsci0317b.jpg

Back at the home of my parents in law we had wonderful applepie (thanks to the missus)!

dsci0297u.jpg

Last not least a lil' moodpic...

The cut of the engineers is pretty close to LVC 55's, even if the "Originals" got more room in the top block. The quality is really fine, but I don't like the simple stich of the hems and I miss hidden rivets on them. I also don't like the very tight front pockets and the additional belt loops.

I'm sure they'll fade quick and nice, I'll soak them gentle within the next days and hope they get more comfy cuz' they are REALLY stiff. The tees are nice but the printing fades superfast. I've handwashed my tee before the first wear and some letters are not visible anymore.

Thanks guys!

A bit more:

dsci0323f.jpg

Nele watches her mum...

dsci0328h.jpg

...while I am wrestling with the mower. Do you have good eyes?

dsci0332p.jpg

Yep! 1st heavy distressing (I was carrying my keys in the backpocket).

dsci0339q.jpg

After the garden work-horror we've had wonderful aglio oglio and linguine di pesce at the best italian restaurant from Hessen (small, simple but real sicilian. Simply the best).

dsci0344d.jpg

Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!
