Get some 120 and you should be set. Learn to move in reverse. Oh, manual metering will not be fun if you're not adept to the basics at first, but it's still cool to use. Have fun!

I have the vaguest experience with manual metering from some film photo classes I took when I shot with my dad's old Minolta. Best place to get film for a reasonable price? Light meter?

I buy film from freestyle also. Good stuff. You should get a spot meter and learn the Zone System for exposure. They can be pricey. I would recommend using the light meter in your digital slr (you have one of those, right?) in the meantime.

I kinda want a mamiya tlr but I'm waiting & saving for an rb67 system.

Be sure to post your results, jeepster. I am learning printing right now, which is fun, fun, fun! Someday in the near future I'll post up some prints.

Printing I have no problem with. I excelled @ printing when I took the classes, but I don't wanna have to lug around two heavy cameras just to use the light meter in one and shoot with the other. There isn't a small, cost-effective and relatively decent handheld meter around?

The Gossen Digisix ($125) or the Sekonic L-208 ($100) are probably the two best basic light meters.

I got an Leica M3 a couple of months ago, probably going to cop the digisix.

did you really walk around with a dslr and a tlr? that just seems so strenuous...invest in whatever light meter you can afford at the moment..gossen is definitely a plus....or just wing it...i do a lil of both
