Two from the past week, my project 365 is still coming a long. I find the hipstamatic app for the iphone does some okay b+w when I don't have my camera on me.

I know this is the wrong thread but I'm looking for advice for my first dslr. Trying to stay under 1000 and need something to just take pics. Nothing fancy. Looking at the d5000 d3100 and rebel t2i. Anything else I should consider recommendations between the 3

Of those 3...I like the D3100. IQ will be the same as the D5000. Video is superior on the canon, but for the money the 3100 is a damn good camera, small, great performance, and the nikon kit lens trumps the canon by a long shot.

You can also find cheap 50D and D90 now that they're discontinued..
