Two Moon 530 The 530 model is the regular straight model from Two Moon. They also have a 540 model which has a lower rise and is slimmer and more tapered (a "66 cut"). This version is not the from the 'recent' release in 2021 but an older model. You can identify this by the not off-set belt loop and the backpocket having a backstitch at the top (which I actually prefer to the square above the pockets, we discussed this detail recently if it was an actual Levi's thing). I'm not sure from when it is. The jeans are made of 14oz red-line selvedge denim. The cotton for the warp is from Zimbabwe but you can also find the information it being Supima cotton. The weft is US cotton or recycled cotton, both information can be found. The development of the denim started early on in the brand's life but only in 1998 or 99 they were confident enough to release it. It is designed to be tough and fade slow. It's dyed double the times than regular denim whatever this means. The old Lighning Magazine did a rating about fading speed. Momotaro and SDA were labelled 'slow', this Two Moon denim was rated 'very slow'. Perfect for a me as a collector... Points of stress (button holes, crotch seams) are sewn with poly-cotton thread. The whole concept of these jeans is durability, at least that's what the makers claim. Size 34x34 One-wash Waist: 88 cm / 34.65" Front rise: 30 cm / 11.8" Back rise: 44 cm / 15.75" Thighs: 33 cm / 13" Knee: 25.5 cm / 10" Leg opening: 23.5 cm / 9.25" Inseam: 84 cm / 33" Dearskin leather patch Rather thin belt loops Based on the VAT being 5%, this pair has to be before 2014 (and after 1997)20 points

According to Lightning Magazine founded in 1991. However, their hang tangs have a 1992 printed on it. It's a bit of a mysterious brand. They sell their items through an agent to the shops. There are allegedly 3 people behind this brand and they do a lot of sewing on their own. http://www.two-moon.com/ Mostly known for their tops, especially sweaters and t-shirts. They also do pants from time to time like chinos or jeans. Their most famous item is probably the 92022 loopwheel sweater which they offer since 1992. Based on this, I guessed the first two numbers of the items are connected when it was first released and it matched e.g. with their jeans they offered in 2021 as an anniversary model. But there are also items which contradict this claim.6 points

Yeah, I had to size up from 34 to 36. The 529 chinos made from Westpoint/Weapon cloth (right hand twill) are very nice with most details of the 40s and reasonably priced at around JPY 17,000 to 20,000. They are a bit on the slimmer side with the rise more a mid-rise. From the same fabric they also have the 536 work pants, which are wider with a higher rise. (edited- I had mixed things up a bit) And there is a 528 W, which is even wider, I think. I also have this short sleeve sweat shirt, which is also very solid.4 points

This seller has 3 pairs of deadstock 66 from the Shins era. Good prices (as of now) https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/japan/en/yahoo-auctions/search/-/-/?seller=5cKdq_71BXKUgaWE4XI-ZDFbfnvf6x_zUubtjYI4iSkNk0OSd3tdMZi5aORMeIsgk738vxmI5HOKZr8V8XbHAA.wGpRtiqBlCzIT8Ftd3v7hPx-Dwcd_FUNrd_C1ZMycOE4 points

I didn't know that.. but It does sound logical for mil-spec, if recruits are all sized between the min and max height parameters for army enlistment, why have size grading on a garment which is designed to fit like a shapeless sack.. the only defining factor would be the arms length.. it makes perfect sense I had a vintage M-65 parka which i bought in Brighton 25yrs ago.. i didn't have it long but they bring back great memories for me.. when it was my birthday we'd been out the night before and got trashed, one of my friends slept on our sofa because we were planning on hiking up Kinder on the morning of my birthday.. being January, it was knee deep in snow.. he's a serious mountaineer type so was dressed appropriately in gore jacket, gore salopettes...ect i was wearing a fishtail parka, jeans and a Stussy beanie.. i was also driving a very fancy Nissan 300ZX when the only other cars on the snow covered roads were Landrovers.. we must have looked like a right pair.. i took a Toblerone .. I ended up swapping the M-65 for a 1/4 of weed, it would always made me smile seeing this guy doing his 'deliveries' incognito like on a twist and go 50cc Piaggio wearing a vintage M-65 Field Parka and full face bike helmet. The lining i bought was actually for my field jacket but it's the same button arrangement, i just wore it to the surplus store and went through a rail full of liners to find something that fitted.4 points

Thankfully they look great or I’d have to sit in the corner wearing my denim dunce cap. @OutSider first suggested Japan Rabbit some time ago.. I read in their FaQs that we would still be responsible for fees.. although it was a little ambiguous, b_F was kind enough to try them out. Thanks again Tilmann 👍2 points

Between us, Mrs. CSL and I have a number of Two Moon sweatshirts, most of those being two-tone combinations. The largest size just about fits me. I've always bought directly from Take Off, who would appear to stock the biggest selection of the brand.1 point

@beautiful_FrEaK also the pair of Toys Mccoys seem to be from the same factory as the fake sugar canes. https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/japan/en/auction/yahoo/input/j1189598598/ or the graph zero https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/japan/en/auction/yahoo/input/n1189945765/ they all feature that rather dull selvage denim and short button flys, look at the last fit pic of the McCoy's token from DC4 btw. and compare the steep front rise of an original pair...1 point

@indigoeagle Yahoo (like so many good finds) And yes, the last release was 2021 but it was a slightly different pair (details different and a wider fit)1 point

You’re not wrong, They’re the exact same fakes which @Sympathy-For-The-Denim picked up recently1 point

The fake SugarCane jeans have reached Yahoo Auction https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/japan/en/auction/yahoo/input/h1189731827/ Or am I wrong?! The other stuff from this shop looks rather legit on first view. Edit: nah I think he sells knock-offs and starts the auctions pretty cheap. Or who would sell a FW jacket with a starting price of 1,000 Yen?1 point

That’s a good fit Tilmann, especially now you’re slimming down again, where did you pick them up? I think Flash had a pair of their jeans years ago and Mr Black may have one of their sweatshirts.1 point

@ATWM I have ordered one of their 92022 sweaters from BEARS and will hopefully receive them next week or. I know many here like their sweaters so I wanted to try them out as well. @Double 0 Soul I will add additional pics soon and add some more info about the jeans. The chinos ended up with me like 2 years ago or so. A bit tight but wearable. I'm currently loosing weight again.1 point

"Ma Bell, got the ill communications Ma Bell, got the ill communications Ma Bell, got the ill communications" -The Beastie Boys Been after one of these for a minute. Scarce but not terribly rare MA BELL strike tee, 1971 In July of 1971 workers at Southern Bell (a part of AT&T) went on strike and countless t shirts, pins, flyers, patches etc were made in various designs. This would continue well into the 90s as workers kept pushing back against massive technological change. There would be later strikes (notably in 1983) so this tee could be a from a little more recent history but the single stitch sleeves and hem as well as the simple paper tag seem to confirm the early 70s. Just a reminder: fuck monopolistic greedy corporations and support your fellow worker. Class warfare is an ugly beast and we need more class unity. Too many working class folks are cheering for their own destruction these days.1 point

I'm in the same boat as you, mine shrunk a little too much so they are a little "short." Adding a micro cuff, though, makes it a bit more intentional for me, so problem solved. I was hoping to be swimming in them and just do regular washer and dryer frequently, but it may be more to my mild weight gain as opposed to screwing up the sizing. Pair is great though and as we roll into summer, very happy having a ~13oz pair.1 point
