beautiful @chicote, thank you for the photos. Here's a picture of it brand new. The fabric for this was called 'Laundry Bag Cloth' and was a 100% cotton version of fabric woven for NHS hospital laundry sacks- the warp is pale blue (if I remember correctly) with a white weft and occasional blue weft bands, which mark off where the bags would be filled to and seamed. This was made on the same loom, just the weft was switched from polyester to cotton. Here's a photo of the original garment- it's a wattle dyed 424 Wallaby Pocket Short Sleeve Shirt from SS178 points

Use value vs exchange value: one of the foundations of capitalism! The hyperinflated price of high fashion clothing is one of the best illustrations of this principle, I think.3 points

The measurements can differ quite a bit. For the 46 e.g. Neshi states for the chest- 61cm, while three8 says 66cm. Perhaps one is pit to pit, while the other is the circumference divided by two. Junky also offers that jacket. For 46 they state: 46 着丈約63cm・身幅約62.5cm・肩幅約55.5cm・袖丈約67cm Here are all their measurements:

One of my big regrets, Mike offered to make a custom high waisted pair of Blacksmiths for me for a $100 upcharge. It seemed too extravagant a proposition at the time but I'd jump at the opportunity now.3 points

For the marble guys, seems the dryer is the "marble maker"? I have washed mine fair regularly but am not using the dryer for fear of shrinking them too much. Mine don't seem to be showing much marbling. Unlike my Denime 220a that I have been drying.2 points

@aho Those are looking prime, makes me wish I’d sized my pair to be able to put them through a more aggressive wash routine2 points

The white / blue is def the best coulour.. the green / yellow, which i assume is homage to Oregon look more like genie shoes or Indian wedding shoes. I don't really get the faux-wear thing, i've seen Autry and Golden Goose do it.. puts them in the same realm as distressed denimz from my perspective. ..but, if that's what you want, go for it.. i don't think there is any tech in them, so you're just paying £600+ for the branding.. they look very much like, German track and field shoes, eBay used to be a wash with old unbranded East German sneaks, you could pick them up for £40.. i used to post them over on DB.. for that^ amount of money, you could get yourself a very decent pair of 70s era Nike from Yahoo.. in 3yrs time when the MMs are worth £50 the Nikes will still be worth what you paid for them.. but it's your do$h.2 points

Here’s a short sleeve Wallaby shirt, number 423 maybe?, that my partner appropriated from my closet a couple of years ago. Tender items have always been so difficult for me to photograph because of the subtlety of so many of their fabrics, but this overcast day here gives a nice flat light that hopefully shows a little of the wonderful dialectical texture this shirt is developing, somehow smooth and rough, soft and robust all at once.2 points

There was a buzz in the air around our way yesterday I missed the main action but my wife was a honey and took some footage Bees had migrated from under the eaves of a local house to nest in a tree Nothing could be done to move them on while they were living in the eaves However, once in the tree, they could be moved safely... the local beekeeper was contacted The queen bee ended up safely in the bucket... and her loyal subjects soon followed The beekeeper left the bees to swarm into the bucket for a few hours Then came back, put them all in the blanket, into her car boot and took them to her hive to live happily ever after Win-win-win situation - happy bees, happy beekeeper, happy home-owner... Quite a sweet ending eh 😄2 points

@ATWM I’ve washed on warm a couple times now and they seem to be about as shrunk as they’re gonna get just sticking with that routine, but I don’t think I’ll ever do ultra-hot nor put them through the dryer1 point

Problem is guys, everything was slick af and perfectly balanced in the 70s.. It’s all just shoe-porn Obori Boston ..even the humble Waffle was slick ..compared to how it looks today ..but bear in mind, these shoes are repro’s of pared down running shoes, but folks are not wearing the repros to run a 3hr marathon, they’re wearing them as daily wearers so they still need to be comfortable for the modern day lumox, hence the fatter mid-sole.1 point

Also feeling behind as I only wear them about 2-3 hours a day, but I there's enough time to catch up! Like our friend volvo, I'm happy with how things have set and will be washing more frequently now as honestly I'm looking for more even fades, similar to vintage pairs here and here. Some updates though, post wash last night:1 point

Thanks for the welcome @Double 0 Soul! I’m a couple years younger than most of you fellas, so traditional forums like this were once a bit foreign to me. After being on all the big social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, tumblr, twitter) heavily as youth, I ditched it all around the time I graduated high school. Reddit was really the only social media platform I interacted with and how I eventually found this place (from the cesspool that is the raw denim subreddit.) I think @beautiful_FrEaK or @shredwin_206 mentioned SuFu over there, I was delighted to find people who were not only much more knowledgeable, but could actually dress well posting here. It only took a couple of months of lurking for me to decide to bite the bullet and pay the initiation fee, you guys are such a wealth of information and entertainment that I feel the 10 bucks is truly worth it (though it’s cost me just a bit more than that in jeans!) As for how I got into denim, I’ve always enjoyed clothes. I got my first pair of raw jeans in high school during the APC/size down craze, a pair of 511s that never really fit me how I wanted (I couldn’t size down, I actually used to size up to fit my calves and quads.) I tried a couple other slim-fit budget pairs over the years (Uniqlo, Naked and Famous) but I couldn’t get the fit right. Eventually as the slim-fit started to fall out of fashion, I realized that higher rises fit me better. I started wearing old 501s almost exclusively, and after a couple of years I got bored of basically being restricted to mid and light wash jeans. I decided it was time for a pair of raw denim and headed into the city, after Self Edge had nothing that fit me in my price range they recommended I go over to 3sixteen, where the classic straight fit was perfect for me. They were my only jeans for a good while, getting worn to the office occasionally and on weekends, but eventually my will power gave out. I recently caved and have acquired a few pairs of 40s repros 😂1 point
